Alright we got episode 47 this week, and this is the big one: "All For One," adapting chapters 86 - parts of 89 from Volume 10 of the original source manga. With Bakugo still kidnapped, the top heroes have split into two groups for a double attack on the villain's hideouts. It was pretty badass seeing All Might and Gran Torino working together to subdue Shigaraki's crew. Of course Kamui Wood swasn't a slouch either.

Truly, things seemed to be more or less under control and it seemed like Deku's little team wouldn't even be needed. Unfortunately for them however, the shit hit the fan. All For One has finally made his move, and effortlessly left a path of destruction of great magnitude. Young Midoriya is right to be scared shitless, what can possibly be done to stop this seemingly invincible threat?

Oh man, just seeing this stuff animated at last is giving me such fond flashbacks of when I was experiencing it weekly as it came out in the manga. The first true climax of the series is here at last! Savor it everyone, it don't get much better than this! xD

I really do not like that reporter. He's got the classic villain grimace.

Best Jeanist doesn't get enough screen time. He's very perceptive and wise.

I usually find it annoying when an anime constantly shows a character's name on-screen the first time they appear in the episode. because he seen it tons of times already.  But I am not when watching MHA oddly.

The end of hero society!  Yikes!

More nom us! …. wouldn't they hide them a lot more carefully?  5 kids were able to just sneak through that narrow passage and peer through the window!

Woah yes!!  It's so exciting seeing the pro heroes in action!

Things are looking up.  Which only means shit is gonna happen soon before the end of this episode. They really should have grabbed Bakugo and ran while Gran Torino was monologuing to the capturing villains.

Even All for One said "I am here" back then, though in a different context.

"NOOO!!"

…. well shit. that's where All for One is.  :( They're doomed.

…. aaaand there goes Best Jeanist.

Welp, I'm sick as a dog with what I think is the stomach flu, but the show must go on! It's episode 48 this week, "Symbol of Peace" adapting the rest of Chapter 89 to finish off Volume 10 of the original  source manga, as well as Chapters 90 and 91 to begin Volume 11. All For One has made his move at last, leaving massive destruction in his wake. With only All Might, the titular Symbol of Peace, capable of stopping him...maybe.

fyIeCUS.png

The hero alliance was so close, but Bakugo remains captured...but not for long! Yes, in what was truly a brilliant team move the students of 1-A, especially Kirishima, who knew?, came up big in grabbing Bakugo. With some very nice assists from the criminally underused Mt. Lady, and my fave, Gran Torino, to ensure their escape. And not a moment too soon. Even with Gran Torino for backup(watch that punch from All Might!) this fight is insane!

auLL0no.png

Easily the most impressive feats of strength the series has offered to this point. And if things couldn't get any crazier, it's time to reveal a hidden truth about the past. About Gran Torino's old friend and All Might's teacher, the 7th User of One For All, Nana Shimura!

fhB0T6e.png

Also, as I mentioned a couple weeks back Horikoshi is a big Star Wars fan. And yeah, All For One's mask here was clearly meant to echo Darth Vader.

Holy shit.

Can't say we didn't see this fight coming but BOY is it exciting, and it's not even over yet (I think)!  Shiguraki also has a clear arc of becoming a villain much in the same way Deku is becoming a hero, though of course he doesn't get focus.

When Deku shared his plan with his friends, I had initially thought the events illustrating it were all in his head! I didn't think they were actually pulling it off IRL!  :o They hammered in the hopelessness of their rescue mission for several episodes by now. It felt a bit weird that they would all of a sudden present a plan that actually got pulled off by the students.

Deku is the 9th user then? I didn't realize there were that many.

And unfortunately due to dbags spoiling things on the internet the same way they did with AOT spoilers I have a general idea of what happens next week, but still looking forward to it.

Yup, fun fact the name/word Nana means 7 in Japanese, Toshinori Yagi (All Might's real name) has the kanji for 8 as a part of it, and one of the kanji in Izuku's name can also be read as "kyu" which means 9. I'm not sure if I was jumping the gun a bit mentioning that. I apologize if so I'm usually more careful about spoilers, but it's not a particularly huge one imo at least.

We've finally reached the climax of the entire series to this point with episode 49 this week, "One For All," adapting Chapters 92 - 94 from Volume 11 of the original source manga. All Might has reached his limit during his epic clash against All For One. And the truth surrounding the death of his predecessor, Nana Shimura,

UFrgmtB.png

and her hidden relation to Shigaraki, All For One's groomed successor, is revealed at last.

71grnzw.png

Weak and mentally shattered as he may be, the Symbol of Peace can't waiver now. When the entire populous watches and cheers him as the clash of all clashes is going on.

zZpoF3C.png

And the moment we've all been waiting for: we see the most epic scene in the entire series so far, United States of Smash!

KRRBW2y.png

All Might has won! But his victory has come at a heavy price. A hero has left the grand stage while the torch has been passed, and as All Might himself says, you're up Young Midoriya. I hope you're ready!

e0bMUaB.png

Glorious, just glorious. I waited to see this animated since reading it weekly what felt like so long ago. And it was pretty damn perfectly adapted to. I so loved seeing young Gran Torino talking with Nana, and the emotion in Deku's eyes as he watched the fight and realized the truth behind All Might's final declaration. It's a bittersweet ending to this first part of the series, in more ways than one. As personally, nothing that has come in the next 90 or so manga chapters released since this has been able to match it. But that's just my opinion, and I'm getting ahead of myself anyway. Regardless, I still look forward to continuing on the journey either way.

I'm reading we won't be getting an episode on Saturday the 7th. So tomorrow's episode and next week should air as scheduled. While I figured we'd get a week break in between cours like last year with season 2, I assumed it would be next week to make it a 12/12 break, but I guess they're fine going the 13/11 route.

Indeed, and now that he's retired...well we'll be discussing this more as the show goes on I assume, but it goes back to what I mentioned a week or two back about the manga failing to be as good as this fight was going forward despite it being about 80 chapters later already. In my opinion anyway, I know plenty disagree with me on that. But we'll see, we'll see.

Alright it's episode 50 this week, "End of the Beginning, Beginning of the End," adapting Chapters 95 - 97 from Volume 11 of the original source manga. Big changes are on the horizon! Yes, All Might has won over All For One, but at the cost of his power and standing as the #1 hero and Symbol of Peace. Now the fallout from the entire affair must begin to be addressed. And that includes reaching out to the parents of all the UA students put in harm's way during the night just past in an attempt to get them to agree to...living in dorms! It's really interesting getting to see some of these parents. Such as the seldomly seen Kyoka's rockin' parents:

nYwgWki.png

And that also includes Mama Bakugo, who is pretty much just him with eyelashes and a big pair of tits design wise. xD

aKEePND.png

But as it turns out All Might's toughest opponent of all was....Inko Midoriya!

Er5tsbw.png

Yes, Mama Midoriya has good reason to show reluctance to allow her son to keep getting badly injured, and even All Might can't deny it, forced to take drastic measures:

yuN0jqD.png

It's a dramatic and emotionally powerful scene on both sides:

pu7qMxL.png

But in the end she relents, opting to place her faith in UA, All Might, and her son. We end on a bit of a sour note with All For One passing his torch as well, to Shigaraki, but as long as we're talking emotionally powerful I teared up so badly when I first read that beach scene where Izuku cried in All Might's arms signifying the titular end of the beginning.

Ideally now's the time for a new op, but apparently that's gonna be in 2 weeks, the latter of which will be a break week. But first, bring on the dorm room rankings! xD

Well there's no episode after this week so that may have something to do with it, but I don't know. Iirc last season the dub eventually fell behind too. Personally I only check out the dub after getting the home release anyway.

So as we wind down the first half of season 3 before a break next week it's time for the students of UA to begin "Moving Into Dorms" in the 51st episode of the series overall. Adapting the last couple pages from chapter 97 along with chapters 98 and 99 to finish off Volume 11 of the original source manga. But first, a bit of unfinished business, as Aizawa-sensei lays down the law.

E0bNsRG.png

Oof, only All Might's retirement saving them from expulsion! Yeah I'd feel pretty shitty too everyone. Including Bakugo, who decides to actually act kinda, sorta, semi-decently for a change. But the real implications of this revelation lied most personally with our best frog-girl Tsuyu in the end. Her tears...something we should never, ever have seen. :(

GxYvlPH.png

Mixed between these two scenes though we get the main meat of our episode. And perhaps most importantly of all, the gauntlet has been thrown down! It's time to decide once and for all....who has the coolest dorm room??? Pretty fun and interesting designs....for the most part.

Just stay away from Mineta's porn dungeon. xD Boy that little perv was kicking it into overdrive this week huh?

INP5IIr.png

But in the end, the winner is.....Sato????? Yes this seldomly prominent, sugar-powered 1-A student won via...cake!

HPS1u79.png

Oh yeah, Buu agrees with that tasty decision! xD So next week we're off as I said earlier and then the quest begins anew, for obtaining provisional hero licenses! And our student's first step towards that goal? Making up some ultimate moves!

Mineta's gotten huge backlash and it always makes me sad. I remember reading the season 3 opening episode review on ANN when it was screened early and getting annoyed by their trashing of his brief scene. It just reminds me that characters I loved like Master Roshi would probably receive the same fate if they were just debuting now. In fact I think Roshi even got some slack in DB Super. Just...I dunno, damn prudes.

I mean I dunno why, he's a comedic relief character. He never even actually does like groping or anything he's just pervy (and bad at it too since his plans to peep always backfire on him). I dunno why so many hate on him... it's like they don't realize teenage boys are naturally horny and some are just more than others. His is a characature obviously. People get offended too easily these days and have no sense of humor.

So we're off this week as I mentioned, but there is a new promo video previewing season 3's second half:

But with that said I do think I'm gonna retire from posting on this board. I mean I've now chosen to add 8 members of this fairly small community  to my ignore list. At what point do I just say it's not really worth it to bother anymore? I think I've reached it. So be it, but counting the old AS board days it's been right around a decade of posting with some of you. It's been an....interesting ride thinking back. Well, whatever, I'm done. To those of you I liked or who liked me, take it easy. To the rest, go fuck yourselves.

I know it was for drama purposes, but personally he was on my shitlist when he somehow did better than Izuku on the assessment test. I mean I know he couldn't really use his quirk, but he's a reasonably in shape young man. He should have been able to beat Mineta. It's an outrage tbh.
