The thing is, your job isn’t that different when you suck at everything you do anyway.

That all depends on who you ask.

Casinos have a nasty habit of getting rid of bad employees before they finish their first year.

I've worked through nine department heads and a long parade of different supervisors.

I've seen senior management and even ownershilp come and go during my time there.

I guess none of them noticed anything wrong.

They shouldn’t be wasting time noticing what the fucker who walks behind a half filled Georgia buggy does.  As long as you wait until your back of house to finish off the plastic margarita glasses, they could care less.  Heck, if it means you’re too busy to stuff your face with someone’s leftovers, they’re all for it.

One truth prevails at the casino.  Firing people is managent's favorite thing to do.  It feeds their egos and  keeps their labor costs at a minimum.  Can you successfully navigate that rocky rapid or longer than three decades?

I’ve been at the same workplace for longer than 30 years.  Nobody has been fired here in 30 years, except for my uncle who smelled like beer all day.

Your workplace doesn't include managers who cut costs and feed their egos by firing people.  Mine did.  Anybody can do well when the weather is favorable.

Right here and now...

(Atlantic City)

Pounding rain with strong gusts.  Flash flood warnings, tornado warnings and all that other hooty hoo that seems to go along with summer torrents.

Let me see if it all stays here longer than two hours.  If not, it won't do anything but raise the humidity.

Well, yeah... I've never worked for Trump, but that's beside the point - everybody knows that the reason your entry-level job is unionized is because you worked for unscrupulous people in an industry that relishes its own mob roots.  What's hilarious is that you're parading yourself like the savant unsung veteran of the janitor wars when all you ever amounted to was a 5'2" cuck.

It's all quite normal for this time of year.  Wait until late August if you wanna see the rest of it.  You may just see another Hurricane Sandy clone.

I never worked for Trump either.

Now, how's that big fat 401k progressing?

What did I say?  Did I ever indicate anywhere in this thread that what went on today or last night is not normal or that I should be in full panic mode over it?  Did I even express any surprise about it?

What's your familiarity with the construction industry?

Basically none. Closest experience would be working on mortgage loans. I'm best for administrative roles. Several years of banking.

And, you are aware that 401k accounts are erratic.  Better pay close attention to where it's all invested.

Lol.  That's not how 401k's work.

You underestimate a crackhead going to get his fix.

I mean a dude that short is going to look like he's speed walking every time he step out the door, but how fast can he really go with those two stumps?

Sir, we have a "what are you think about?" thread for mundane things like this.

Had an idea for Lola, but meh, gotta tone it down sometimes. One should exercise restraint at times, yes.

I gotta say, I think Ms Toddingsworth is just the greatest.

Think what you like.  It's quite possible on a thirty two inch inseam.

Maybe if you're running a marathon, which your lungs would never allow you to do in a million years thanks to your negligent former corporate overlords.

ALso, I have a 32" inseam and I'm 1/3 taller than you.

I'm slowly creating lore for them too. Even though Packard and his misconceptions of the world are my main inspirations, the characters, I feel, have become a little too wholesome to be based completely on him.

I'm reminded of JK Rowling basing Professor Snape on a teacher she didn't like and Mike Judge's proclivity for drawing unattractive middle aged men to be his main inspiration for King of the Hill.
