I wouldn’t sign that check until the May schedule update. If they keep this up till May 17, that’s a 10 episode debt. They already paid one off the first week of the year, and the last 2 weeks of the year are always off, so that’s 7 more to pay off. A full series Lazarus marathon for 2 weeks is highly likely, so that’s 5 left. That’s a manageable amount still. If we get to the May shuffle and it’s still going double, they either bought extra or are burning through it irresponsibly and we will pay for it later. Nevertheless, I do not care how early or late they expand. They can take the whole 13-hour night for all I care. Actually, that would be too big even for ME to wish for... I’ll never understand why people ask for this when the block is in the state it’s in. It’s seven slots now and it sucks so hard, more slots just means more suck. They need to make what we have good before anyone talks about any form of expansion. 1 Quote

Beg your pardon--I was wrong. As we got DBZ Kai on 3/1, this is only the 5TH Pirate Power Hour in a row in 2025. Quote

KageRageX Posted April 7 Posted April 7 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yaiba#2025_series Imagine if they got fucking Yaiba: Samurai Legend or Witch Watch. Frfr from the feels of these, these would feel well on some equivalent of CN Toonami if that was still around, the fact both are rated PG....I want CN to pick them up and run them on Saturdays with Iyanu. Toonamiguy321 Posted Thursday at 11:13 PM Posted Thursday at 11:13 PM Take a look at the April 26th schedule. In a break from the norm, Lazarus is listed with its proper episode for the night, while the rest of the schedule is blank. So we may have some kind of schedule update dropping tomorrow. Most logical option would be One Piece trimming down to 1 episode and the Lazarus sub sliding into the open slot. That’s a little earlier than the one month stated by Deadline, but that was never written in stone either. Naruto and Sailor Moon could be on their way out a bit earlier than expected. Considering they didn’t have the right date for DBZ leaving though, I don’t see them planning ahead for when this happens. And the least likely, maybe they are actually getting a new show? Seems a bit odd to start that on the 26th rather than waiting a few weeks for CSE and BE to end though. Quote

I would've given them another month, if I wasn't given a full year for those shows. But since we see seven slots taken by the block, cutting the last two of them sounds a bit unlikely. 47 minutes ago, Toonamiguy321 said: And the least likely, maybe they are actually getting a new show? OwlChemist81 Posted Friday at 04:15 PM Posted Friday at 04:15 PM "On April 26th, don’t miss our special musical guests Ginger Root as they wrap up the end of the block with their visual album Shinbangumi!" Got to admit, this is pretty damn cool, even if we have to stay up until 3 AM to see it!! Could have lost a One Piece to trim the block down to 3.5 hours, but we're not! Quote
PokeNirvash Posted Friday at 05:16 PM Posted Friday at 05:16 PM Well, that's a nothingburger of a schedule update. Neat, sure, but not really hopeful for the block's longevity/ability to secure acquisitions. Quote
Toonamiguy321 Posted Friday at 05:40 PM Posted Friday at 05:40 PM I don’t know what that is and I don’t think that I care either. I am very surprised that One Piece is still trucking forward with two episodes. This would have been a good excuse to preserve one. Bets on if Sailor Moon returns the following week? Quote

Mr. Idea Box Posted Saturday at 12:13 AM Author Posted Saturday at 12:13 AM The upside? This is certainly an unexpected thing to air on present-day Toonami. It vaguely reminds me of Interstella: 5555 in theory. The downside? It airs at 3 in the morning, below even Naruto reruns, and it looks like the lone bright spot of Toonami Rewind's remains might be leaving early. Overall, not something I would've presented without an update for next month. Quote

If THIS is what it is then it would explain why they tossed it to 3AM rather than air it earlier in the block to save some precious One Piece episodes or something. EDIT: I don’t think that video is what will be airing. Seems they made a vintage style anime for this. It's subtitled and could certainly turn off their regular viewers just by the look of it so 3AM is a much safer bet than earlier in the block but at this point they could have played it at 1:30 without much concern. Toonamiguy321 Posted Monday at 04:28 AM Posted Monday at 04:28 AM Online schedule updated, Sailor Moon returns to its timeslot the following week. Which leads us to ask, if this wasn’t a way to stealth delete Sailor Moon, why not pull Naruto and SM on the 26th so this music video thing can air at a slightly more reasonable time right on the heels of premier content? With a bonus feature of not offsetting the blocks runtime for one week. Not like anyone would miss either show for one week. Whatever the case, with that sorted, we are now moving into the strike zone of CSE and BE ending. The post CSE schedule goes live next Sunday, so I would hope they have some kind of announcement this Friday. We are dying for any kind of news at this point so it would be nice if they didn’t take us down to the two week wire for once, especially if it’s another “we have nothing” schedule. Quote

Skipping a Naruto would put them in danger of not finishing Land of Waves if the show leaves in May but they probably weren’t thinking about that. Quote
