avec Posted April 29, 2020 Posted April 29, 2020 DBZ or Death Note is incorrect 😂 My recs: Gokusen GTO Ouran High School Host Club Hana Kimi (I havent seen the Taiwanese version yet but the others are good)  Quote
katt_goddess Posted April 29, 2020 Posted April 29, 2020 How is Death Note incorrect? The Japanese live action with the decently CGI'ed Shinigamis is actually pretty fun in a light entertainment kind of way. For the same reason, I'd like to watch the Tokyo Ghoul version as well. It's probably just as weirdly cheesy but some times you just need cotton candy for your brain. 1 Quote

Nytlyt Posted April 30, 2020 Posted April 30, 2020 I thought the live action Ghost in the Shell was alright. 1 Quote
Gina Szanboti Posted April 30, 2020 Posted April 30, 2020 The Rurouni Kenshin movies were pretty good. 1 Quote
naraku360 Posted April 30, 2020 Posted April 30, 2020 No, the Netflix Death Note was amazing. One of the greatest comedies of the last decade. 4 Quote

I would rather have live action anime films that took horrible, laughable liberties with the material like Death Note to adaptations like FMA and AoT where they tried to mold an Avengers movie out of their pre-existing stories. The Bleach film wasn’t horrible, but I can say with all honesty that I had more fun seeing L freak out to an Air Supply song or Light shrieking at Ryuk than the big action set piece at the end with Ichigo & Renji. TV dramas have an easier time making for good anime adaptations, but films are like the Wild West for them. They’re either disappointing, surprisingly not terrible, or one of the worst films of all time. 1 Quote

Recently I saw the first Kenshin movie which might be my favorite live action adaptation so far if the quality stays consistent. I've also always liked the City Hunter movie with Jackie Chan. I liked the Korean TV series a lot but it didn't follow the source material at all, not why they based it on CH.  1 Quote

You weren't supposed to to take it!" Bruh, it never suggests you can do hypotheticals. Impeccable music choices though. Edited April 30, 2020 by naraku360 Quote

Nat Wolff does such a horrible job at playing a methodical mastermind in the movie. The Ferris wheel scene was great because his delivery was less like a puppet master saving his own skin and more like a naggy husband getting fussy when his wife took a lefthand turn when he told her five minutes ago to take a right. She was much more of a "Kira" than he was but the movie is still structured as if we're supposed to believe this dumbass is a brilliant mastermind. 2 Quote
