A ceiling tile collapsed in our office...

It’s currently raining, so water went everywhere. I’ve reached out to both maintenance and the property manger with no response from either.

They had sent an email yesterday that they’d only be servicing emergency orders due to the viral outbreak.  I mean, I feel like the ceiling falling in on your tenants kind of seems like an emergency, but what do I know? 😐

Leaking roofs should never be left unattended... they get worse very quickly.

Lol, I'm so sorry! If it makes you feel any better, I still appreciate the meme and those 30 seconds that you put into finding it 😋

The only thing that falls out of our ceiling and walls is very tiny lizards. Im usually in charge of scooping them up and letting them loose outside

What?! Really??? You know, I think I would gladly take the rain water over critters falling from the ceiling. Bleh!

It literally took them hours to get there and work on it. By that time, he not only had to clean up the one that had already fallen, but now has to replace at least 4 other tiles that have water damage. He said he'd have to come back and finish because the tiles are custom? I'm not sure...all I know is that we currently have several holes in our ceiling at the moment

usually a proper response to something like this would be clearing off the area, containment, blocking the area, and finally repair.

I mean, that would make sense to me. But I guess their protocol is to wait hours to send someone...

Our maintenance guy is super nice, and I get they are operating differently right now with the virus stuff going on, but I feel like water damage is kind of a big deal

Time to get a bucket.

Yep! We set one under the giant ceiling hole until the maintenance guy got there.

We actually have some on hand. This isn't the first time this has happened in our office, so we're already prepared! 😄

thats terrible policy. here where i work, safety incidents get very fast response. hell the way you describing it, i would feel very unsafe to work there and would demand action. and i work with a bunch of hazards but the work place keeps the environment relatively safe.

Damn, sounds like they need to do some basic maintenance if it's happening all the time.

<_<

Ah well, maybe one time someone will sue.

You're at work?

And the roofs fallin' in on ya?

How many signs do ya need?

This is me getting a sandwich from the fridge in my own home

Yep! They told us "business as usual" until further notice. They won't close our office unless they absolutely have to.

Lol, I told my coworkers the same thing - this was a sign that we shouldn't be there 😄

They said they were going to contact the roofing people last spring when the rain did this to our ceiling, but I don't think that ever happened. We had to cover our computers and copiers. The building even had to replace a couple of keyboards because tiles collapsed over staff's cubicles.

Lol...you know what's funny? We're actually a personal injury law firm... 😄

wooow, shame on them! and the irony of it all, lawd.

That is awful, tho, no one should have to cover computers from water in a bsns....not a good look <_<

Welp, stay safe! Maybe the next tile will be the last.

He's a whole asshole since my grandma died. He has the ability to get up and move himself to the old people toilet, instead he will sit there and look you in the eye and poop and then expect you to clean it up. He refuses to wash himself, wont give consent to live in a nursing home THEN when we finally got some home health care .... this bitch wont eat food if they don't provide him a young attractive CNA/Nurse/ physical therapist/ social worker that he can sexually harass and act like he's getting off when they go to change his pamper. The company home health aide company is on its last placement. They said they dont have any male personnel to send so they have been sending (this is awkward to say) very masculine women or very old women. The VA has realized how he is and his social worker and physical therapist have been replaced with men.

He says we owe him all of this. We are tired. Even the miniature told him .... you need to get on the pot, its easy.

commode? ... the little potty chairs thats basically a toilet seat and bucket attached to a chair frame

Ohhhhh.....See, I don't default to old people when I see those because they gave me one after I got hit by the car in college.  I never used it though....I mean I was 20 and was living with a girl who was sick of my shit (figuratively) so I wasn't going to ask her to do anything for me so I went to the regular bathroom and screamed in pain as I wiped my ass.

At any rate....I had something completely different in mind and it didn't seem correct.

I've dumped some potties for some clients that I see because I dont like them having to smell poop all day.

Thank you! ☺️

We actually just had another one fall. Just a tiny corner one, so no real damage done to anyone or anything, but would be nice to not have to deal with this every time it rains...

Well...hopefully the employees that are left will make sure it gets fixed. I've been temporarily (hopefully) laid off, so I won't be there to keep annoying the property manager about fixing it.

Yep. Since Illinois implemented a Shelter in Place order, they thought Iowa might be next. So they decided to only keep a few staff members on board for now. They're supposed to contact us if/when we can come back to work, but for now, we all have to file for unemployment.
