I played it once or twice at a friend's house. But rogue squadron was definitely the shit. And then rogue squadron 2 felt phenominal. 3 was alright, but it had all of 2 as co-op play which was really cool.

Apparently they did a combined remaster of 2 and 3, finished the game, and then went bankrupt before it launched so it was never released.

It definitely was. I ended up getting the N64 from my uncle, who never played with his console, and the game was included with it including Diddy Kong Racing.

Having played Genesis and NES games only until that point, my mind was fucking blown away by how smooth and detailed it was at the time.

Rogue Squadron 2 and the PS2 Battlefront games were legit.

Can’t say that I’ve been impressed with any of the lightsaber duels I’ve had in games, but any Star Wars game where you can re-enact the Battle of Hoth and tie up AT-AT’s is great in my book.

Nah, Rogue Leader: Rogue Squadron 2 for its time, but it's hard to say. Like you can't say Final Fantasy VII is better than Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim or Breath of the Wild, so you can't compare a Nintendo 64 game to a great modern game because we all know which one is better.

most ambitious probably, but not the best.

everyone knows the hoth level was great but the rest was hit or miss. still played the fuck out of it since there were only like six n64 games the first few months. the graphics i thought were great especially for an early release title. the music was excellent. story and presentation was good too. and gameplay was like i said kinda hit or miss. bunch of different gamplay types in one game not all great but still fun for the most part. best star wars game ever?

even on the system theres rogue squadron, battle for naboo, and pod racer, they were all really good. shadows is much more experimental and less polished than all of those but it has its charm. not my favorite but i really like it.
