Mix Posted August 23, 2019 Posted August 23, 2019 It's genuinely stupefying. I honestly can't decide if they're fool of it or if they've genuinely convinced themselves of their version of events. Everyone is living their own story and I get that no one's ever going to cast themselves as the bad guy in their own tale, but come on. Recognize people you've fucked over and, at bare minimum, keep your distance. None of this, "Hey, dude, what's up, remember me from _____" bull shit.... Yeah, I fucking remember you clear as day. This is a terrible idea you approaching me right now with the only witnesses around being my friends and some shady looking bums who are not going to testify in court...

That happened a lot when my husband and I split and I moved back to my home town. I'd been gone for about 25 years, and it was amazing how history had changed. However, with that much water under the bridge, it had become more amusing than irritating, and some of the assholes had actually become reasonably pleasant people.
Seight Posted August 24, 2019 Posted August 24, 2019 I'm more likely to have someone come up to me and say "hey" and if I don't remember immediately I start thinking "Oh god, wait, I should know who this is." 1

I was thinking you meant something else....Like when My cousin was like "remember that time I bought that half oz of blow and we partied for 3 days" and then I'm like "dude, we stole that from the white boy when he invited us to his room to get fucked up with him....You didn't buy that shit...WTF is wrong with you" 4

Maybe it comes with time, but I doubt it. My mind holds negative memories as clearly as the day they happened. It's part of what makes my existence so charming.

I do that to. What's messed up is it only happens with people who I had pleasant experiences with. I always remember the dickheads.

I would be the guy you stole the blow from in this scenario.
Chapinator_X Posted August 24, 2019 Posted August 24, 2019 People always do this to win arguments when all I was trying to do was get my point across.

When i talk ill of my childhood my mom brings up shit she did when i was 3 that i have no recollection of. If you ever have a kid remember, they will forget everything before age 4. Memories dont set in until 4 and then they are still hazy. I took my daughter to disney at 4 and she has slim memories of it. My mom pretty much stop putting in any effort at all when i was 8. I mean ZERO effort. I dont even remember her or even know where she was from age 8 to 17 lol Edited August 24, 2019 by fuggstop

My son remembers playing Marvel vs Capcom 3 and he was between 2 or 3 when that happened. I remember my first asthma attack an mom says i was 3 when they put me on that tent, had me connected to machines and also eating alligator the first time with my dad. I learned about it in college. Maybe all the drinking and drugging made you forget basic 100 level class knowledge. 1

Where did i say anything abt the ages. Now you are moving goalposts from the fact that IT DOES EXIST. So what if its now or later...she still wont remember shit before age 4. I see you dont understand basic language and context now that youve been proven wrong. Dont you have some grams or kilos or whatever to smoke. Pot head. 1

We'll see, because as I said, I remember my first asthma attack, and I didn't say "it" doesn't exist, I said your assertion that kids forget shit is bullshit. But to reiterate my earlier point, it doesn't apply to everyone, because while I don't remember anything else while I was 3, I definitely remember my first asthma attack.....But aside from that, had you read the article instead of screencapping the first result, you'd see that rule isn't hard and fast. 1
André Toulon Posted August 25, 2019 Posted August 25, 2019 As a matter of fact, topically speaking....Yeah, heffer is here right now.

Ok what happened after the asthma attack. Do u remember going to the doctor or your car ride home after? No. Because of childhood amnesia. Kindly fuck off. 1

My mom denies shit she did as recently as this year and as far back as before I was even born. As for my dad, he pretends I don't exist. So that one works out for me. 1

So you never get resolution. I understand. But you take that and move on by admitting your own wrongs and trying to do better for the people in your life that you love. Learn from it and move on. All you can do, kid. 🤗
