Jon going back up north is the least bothersome thing about that ending. Of course we still have a nights watch, we need somewhere to send the bastards.

But now that there's peace with the freefolk and no white walkers to worry about, castle black can just be a party fort. Shame Ser brianne didnt accompany him on the trip there, i really wanted her and tormund to fuck.

I don't know what's up with arya though, suddenly she's christopher Columbus or some shit.

it was all the way back in season 1 (i'm pretty sure) when arya asked what was west of westeros. i think it's supposed to symbolize a return to her former, pre-murderer self. full-circle stark stuff. that's what i got out of it anyways.

HBO releasing all their trailers so that people dont cancel their subscriptions

that chernobyl will keep me around for a few more weeks. i don't have the energy to torrent weekly series anymore.

Chernobyl does look really good.

i've only watched the first 2 episodes so far. pretty sure i developed radiation poisoning after that. they do fine work of making it feel real.

We still haven't finished westworld.

we haven't started it yet. now that GoT is over, and since chernobyl is only like 6 eps, i won't be actively watching anything anymore. and it's kinda refreshing.

The main thing we're watching right now is Letterkenny.

that was fun for the first season. i lost interest in season 2. at some point, the wordplay got a little too ... wordy.

But words are fun to play with.

yeah...i dunno. it got kinda repetitive. if you're ok with characters being completely overbaked, with mono/dialogue more rapid-fire than joss whedon writing buffy. if that's your thing, then it's a pretty good time. i just kinda lost interest after awhile.

Ah, gotcha.

That's a legit reason I suppose.

To be honest this is my second attempt watching it, a few years back I saw the first episode and decided against it.

Glad I came back around though.

for me it wasn't that jon was sent north. i expected that as it had previously been set up.

it's that the night's watch serves no purpose. send the bastards there... to do what? what are they watching? if there's nothing to watch, hasn't their watch technically ended?

i'd prefer to have had jon banished from the realm or something and then he chooses to go live north of the wall.

i kind of think that's going to be the book ending and that he'll end up with val.

that part obviously couldn't happen in the show because she's not in it, so they wrote it as rejoining the night's watch which i just don't think makes sense.

Why is there no option for people who don't watch Game of Thrones?

How will I be able to tell the world that I don't watch Game of Thrones?

Whew... thanks, friend.

I was afraid I'd have no way of expressing to people that I do not, in fact, watch Game of Thrones.

actually reading some comments people have written online and i may have misinterpreted the scene.

there are no night's watch men in that last scene; it's just jon and wildlings.

this would seem to suggest that he had no intention of going back to the watch. he joined the freefolk. the watch may not even exist anymore and the whole thing was a clever ploy to get him away from grey worm.

that i can live with.

Westworld Season 1 is worth a watch man, if you ever get to it

one of my employees watched it as it aired and she raved about it. honestly, it's something i would probably enjoy quite a bit. just never really got around to it. and with the summer coming, i don't want to be tatered out on the couch while i should be doing shit outside.

Pretty sure we got almost to the end of the first season, and I really liked where the show was going.

A lot.

You want the first season? Cause I have it

I'm pretty sure it is this.

Also he needs to be in the "night's watch" so that he gives up all his claims. That way no one will bother him about being king of anything. Now if you want to ask what happens when people find out there is no watch anymore, I don't know. He'll be hidden away some place by then among the free folk. I do think the snow up there will melt as seen by that random plant. Also I'd like to think he could come back and visit Sansa and Bran every now and then. Nothing would stop him but who knows.

Another theory I saw is maybe there is a night's watch of sorts but they just let him go. This would cover the previous question I brought up. Although like you said, there were none to be seen, only wildlings. This seems like it was faked to give Jon freedom from everything.
