midnight
if you are looking for some awesome candy and sweets, this is the place to go. We went there yesterday and dropped a load of cash. We go there every time we are in Savannah. Their pralines are one of the best sweet treats I've ever had. I got a pound of them. You can only eat one though, because they are so rich. I will eat one a day until they are gone.
Ginguy
There is no real bakery in my town. There are grocery store bakeries, and our local IGA has a decent bakery, but we don't have an actual bakery.

They're a bit pricey. I got a pound of pralines, and it was like $23.00. But when you buy a pound, they throw in another 4 pralines for free. Take a look at their website and see all the things they have. https://www.riverstreetsweets.com/

I was bored, and just had a praline. I didn't know they had several locations around the country. I thought the one I went to was the only one. Turns out, it was the first one, and they recently franchised it. I know a lot of people have interests in foods, because I talk food everyday here. Figured some people might want to check it out. The best pralines I've ever had. Disco loves the place too. Just giving a recommendation for anyone interested.
Ginguy
Looks good, but it seems rather expensive. I might consider giving some of the items as gifts though, so thanks for the link.

I shouldn't have gone in there, but the temptation was too much, and I'm a weak, weak man, with no self-control.
Ric
That would be me if I went to a quality hot sauce store, I'd end up spending way too much. Or one of those exotic meat places.

I used to walk into the "By The Weigh" stores that were in the malls, but it was more for the aroma - reminded me of the "Ma's & Pa's" penny candy store where I grew up. Don't think I ever bought anything there, they probably wondered what I was doing.

My uncle owned a convenience store, and I'd load up on penny candy.
Chapinator_X
I’ve been to the ones in Savannah and Charleston and they’ve got some great pralines. Their taffy is solid too, but it’s all about the pralines. Edited March 3, 2019 by imchapp.in

When it comes to candy I love me some mallowcups...which are hard as fuck to come by in Texas...but anything that’s in dark chocolate...the more percentage of cacao the better...like 70-80% is the sweet spot...that being said...I phycally can’t eat hard chewy Caramels or taffy... but when it comes to pastries...i mean I have a degree in the pastry arts...so..I’m picky as FUCK...and i can’t stand frosting...but I love me some vanilla cream lobster tails and I’m hyper critical of cannoli’s...but I loves them

There are places that specialize in old candies too. I agree with icing. I like cream puffs, tiramisu & eclairs. Unfortunately, someone told bakers that they need to slather on the chocolate icing. At the grocery store here, I'd swear there's a 1/8" slab of chocolate icing on each one. Can't stand it.

I went to San Antonio a lot when I lived in Texas. My favorite thing was at the Rivercenter mall. There was this janky ass "nerd" shop on the top level that basically sold loose gamer/anime shit for obscene prices. A lot of boot leg stuff. Like the "OFFICIAL PURPLE ROBOT WARRIOR" which was a miscolored Android 16 knock off figure from Taiwan and he had the face of man that had a seizure during the heat death of the universe. They wanted nigh $200 for that thing.

DragonSinger
I don't know if they still do it, but if you buy a lunch box in River Street Sweets, they let you fill it up with candy for free. They didn't even weigh them, and I definitely got my money's worth. It was a cute Betty Boop lunch box too. At the time, it was too inconvenient to try one of their candy apples(they look so good), so I haven't tried one of those yet.

Some were legit shops, while others just wanted to ass blast you when you walked in. I went into Think Geek Friday, and they had some cool things. I mean, not many, but some. I didn't buy anything. If I would have known that, I would have gotten him one anyways. I haven't had the candy apples either. I think I've only had the pralines, because I tried one years ago when they pass out samples as you walk in, and that was all for me. I have been buying them since. Disco bought some different things. Mint fudge and some other things, I can't remember. The boy wanted two Mario mushrooms that had candy in them. And our daughter didn't want anything. I like how you can watch them make candy. Buy it soon as they make it. Disco loves their salt water taffy.
