But I like as many things as possible to suffer for my dietary habits. Where is the suffering? There better be some in the lab.

Hey if we can still have all the steak and burgers we want, and people like nabs can STFU, I call that a win-win.

They tried that with chicken, but it came out gelatinous because lab grown meat doesn't exercise.

So the chicken is willing to haul the trash up the back stairs, unlike the lazy janitor?

As opposed to factory farmed animals stacked on top of one another like shitwood

You know, the reason I tagged you is so you'd give me your opinion on what the OP is about.

What can I do for you my good sir

Is this clean lab grown meat the answer? Should it take the place of the current farming methods you so loathe? Or are you not in favor of this at all?

It's cool if it can be produced sustainably and will get enough of you absolute hogs to stop eating actual cowflesh to where we can begin decreasing the global cow population and amount of land we dedicate to cow rearing and cow feed growing then that's a good thing because the alternative is the world basically becoming one big hot McDonald's kitchen slaughterhouse

The reason I decided not to read NPR anymore is because I read a story about how Colombia making a peace aggreement with their rebels resulted in loggers moving into what was once their territory resulting in a record amount of deforestation this year. Lots of people are going to die before things get better.

I sense another great population culling in the works, like an ice age, or a meteor, or a plague. It's long overdue, I fear.

Nuclear armageddon? Space cholera? Nanobots that eat your entire body (starting with the eyes, of course)? Global flood, storm, and drought ALL AT ONCE?

Why not all of them?

Sorry, I can't condone eating artificial meat. If I had the means, I would actually like to do all of my own animal slaughterings. I feel like the ideal way to eat meat should be through personal experience and respect for the creature it came from. We have done enough damage to the derealization of the life cycle as it is.

I feel like the most likely event is deadly heat waves. Like 160 degree days in huge swaths of land that are heavily populated. We need to turn around soon or it's not going to be pretty.

Some day they'll announce a new scientific study finds that breathing oxygen causes cancer.

If the Oxygen is mixed with pollutants that's pretty much a given already. And the chances of someone encountering pollutants in the air during the course of their life is pretty certain now, it just depends on which ones and how often. Just think about that, you could be breathing in cancer right now and not even know it.
