Annual Performance Review Day

Gawd ... this is so dumb. I'm probably be just as productive as I was this time last year, no change.

I'm waiting for my turn to pop in the senior manager's office, stare and nod for 30 mins, and get drilled on why my review looks exactly the same as it did last year.

Then I'll pretend to take notes and anticipate the exact same discussion this time next year

We have to go over a whole goals thing and shit and I always make everything the same every year.

Don't believe them.  Mgmt will either put the reviews for the most difficult people first (if they're smart) or last (bad move).  Short reviews are great, from the reviewer's perspective.  It means they didn't have much they could complain about & you didn't give them an ulcer by complaining about everything/everyone.

I hated giving reviews.

They gave everybody 3% raises already. We usually get our pay increases in October, but something about tax breaks or something  (I cant remember) allowed everyone to get their raises 6 months early

We get yearly merit increases, but I feel like they know what they're going to give you beforehand anyway

Trump's tax breaks, yeah a lot of companies gave employees bonuses or pay raises after they got a massive tax cut.

A little of everything ... sometimes i throw boxes, retape boxes, most of the time im doing clerical stuff like sending drivers for drug tests, updating  DOT files and dispatching 18 wheelers

Oooooooooh......it’s a huge thing.....and it would take me forever to explain.....but it’s...especially bad...

I mean what I can say is that it isn’t 100% my fault...maaaaaaybe...25%....but enough for it to not get me a raise....

If they ever attempt that cut them off and tell them it's because unlike them you're working hard on the poop bandit case and still maintaining good numbers
