No because an animal that large would have been found dead at some point. The had found Dead Giant Squids for years until they finally found live ones, and that was in the deep ocean. Bigfoot is often "seen" a few yards off of hiking trails.

I'd have to dig through my old college papers, but I took a psuedoscience class in grad school, and I did one of my major papers on cryptozoos.  In biology, there's a form of data mapping used to chart the territory of animals based on where they've been seen and/or reported to have been seen, and several scientists compiled data and generated one of those charts for bigfoot, and it was practically identical to that of black bears.

That being said... I STILL WANT TO BELIEVE

I like how right under the photo captioned sasquatch sighting there's another article entitled

"county board discusses mental health concerns"

Wouldn't that just mean that people mistook Black Bears for Big Foot?

You don't know bigfoot's lifespan, stop being presumptuous.

But you are making the assumption that bigfoots are just straight animals with no death rituals of their own.

A few thoughts about the lack of a body:

- they could belong to a group that buries their dead. If they are either a link or a branch in the monkey / homo sapien tree, that would make them social creatures at least within their own groups. So others in the group would be aware of illness or injury in a member.

- they could seek out areas where other animals naturally go when they are dying, Since those places would be well hidden and yet known to scavengers, the dead would be scavenged and the bones scattered all to hades in a short time. Just think elephant graveyards.

- forest fires : the Sasquatch version of a Viking Funeral.

The thing about graves is that they are easy to spot. If you have ever visited a grave of a recently passed relative it takes about a year for the dirt and grass to blend in correctly to look seamless with the sounding terrain. As for scavengers it would lead to the discovery of ape like bones.  Apes have very distinct bones which don't really look like other animals.

Probably the only way for a body to not be found would be if the dead were thrown into an active volcano. The issue with that is it would be impossible to do so without shoes as the ground around a volcanic crater is like glass. As well the ground is very fine and would make tracks highly visible.

As for a normal fire it wouldn't do much for hiding a skeleton.
