The PS3/360/Wii Era was fairly crappy.

If you didn't like FPS games, and I think they're shetty, then you had a really limited collection of excellent non-FPSs. For real, the DS and PSP were better than the consoles. Just realizing this as my I play my PS3 tonight.

In that entire generation, I only had a few favorite games. Those being Bayonetta, Dark Souls, Demon Souls, Monster Hunter Tri, and Persona 4 (if that counts).

I look at the library I have of PS360 games, and there's nothing that stands out nearly as much as the PS2 games in my collection. There's Persona 5 and Phantom Pain, but those are part of the PS4 era, and the PS3 versions were just ports.

 

Yakuza 5, Tekken Tag 2, Skullgirls, the Saints Row games, and Sleeping Dogs were great, but other than that handful, you had alot of bland games from the PS360 era. Fighting games, sandbox, and FPS' were good, but everything else was bleh. Too much AAA garbage with no imagination, sepia tone, and recycled gameplay/assets.

 

The Wii had No More Heroes, Brawl, and some Zelda games, but the main attraction for me was backwards compatibility with GC games.

There were plenty of games that were great in that generation of consoles.

 

Besides those already mentioned, looking at what I own, there's:

 

Yakuza 4

The Ratchet and Clank games (Minus All 4 One, or whatever)

Dragon's Dogma

Muramasa

Dishonored

Darksiders

Nier

Xenoblade Chronicles

Metal Gear Solid 4

 

I'm sure there are others that others would put on their list, as well.

 

 

I don't think it was as good as the PS2 or the DS, but those two dominated the market, so it's no wonder.

i wouldn't say fairly crappy but there wasnt as many great games in that era compared to other eras. there were still plenty of good games but not many titles i would consider great. i was pc gaming and had a wii/ds at that time so i will only comment for those systems.
