and then the photos...omg all the photos.

but mr. disco said he'd do all the trivial things i want tomorrow. so it's charging now.  :)

Why though?

well...i was clumsy. i had it sitting on the arm of the chair, i was making something, and turned to look at a picture,

(i think i was finishing mega man) and BLAM it hit the little stool and then the ground.

well..i put it back on the arm of the chair..and my ass hit it, and knocked it off again.  :(

ok..i'm going to charge the new computer.

i'm ....going to try.

also...i would like to point out how much i loathe windows 10...which is probably part of the problem.

but...i will try.

You are not alone. Windows 10 is the only OS that's made me want to punch the people responsible for it.

One word.

Vista.

Windows 10 irritates the crap out of me some times but at least it doesn't appear to fight with everything I own. It did, however, screw up my scanner which no longer scans in color because it's too old for any online fixes that will function with Windows 10. -.-;

omg...vista is the worst. i remember that 'change' and i clung to wXP with all my heart and soul.

First world problems.

I don't get what's to hate with Win10, it's worked great for me. Once you get used to it, you'll be fine.

Windows 10 is the only OS that's forced me to go through drama over my laptop going to sleep, hibernating, or even shutting down properly because some asshat techbro who can replace their shit whenever they want decided that computers need to run 24/7. There are other problems with that same 'I know better than you' mentality like the forced updates which I admit have become more lenient lately, but it's still annoying as fuck.

Windows 10 is actually really good if you don't mess with all the touch screen stuff. It's not as good as Windows 7, but it's way better than 8 and Vista.

The going to sleep and hibernation things are all power settings that you can change. There are also ways to stop the forced updates, but why? It's annoying when I come back to my computer and see that it restarted itself, yes. But it happens at most once a month and it gets your all those security updates that you do need.

What else is wrong?

The sleeping/hibernating issue is a continuous problem, and I see a lot of people making the same complaints. I work on my laptop, so coming back to my stuff having restarted loses me hours of work sometimes. I also have to gather publisher/agent info from social media and that can also be lost if I don't remember the exact phrasing or name involved. Knowing the date of the post doesn't help either because the twitter advanced search function will still miss posts. This is how Chrome joined the top of my shit list beside Windows 10. Then there's OneDrive that I had to disable again after the last update because it freezes everything.

After the forced update to 10, I had the same problems with my laptop restarting or shutting down or not restarting after hibernating (once i figured out how to turn the option to hibernate back on).

The greatest thing I ever learned since then was ctrl-shift-t in chrome to reopen the last session or closed tabs. How could I have made it this far in life without that crucial intel?

win10 is fine. but this is coming from a guy who molded vista into a satisfactory os, so my definition of fine is probably skewed to the nerd side.

i use win10 on my big laptop for graphic/app design and some "dj" stuff (read: playlists), and then sometimes at the day job when i need a mobile workstation. as far as having to move passwords to the new pc, use a browser that does it for you, or get a dropbox or something. i let chrome save my passwords and have never had an issue. i've also migrated most of my document stuff to google drive, which doesn't require saving or sending to other devices because it's all "in the cloud" (i used to love using that phrase but lately meh). i can create on the work desktop, throw in an edit from my phone or chromebook while i'm out, and pick it back up at home later.

well..i can tell it's slow running. and it's a little glitchy. but i haven't really done anything to make it easy for me. i suppose like anything, just get used to change.

i have chrome. i like chrome. and was happy to see that once i logged in, i had no trouble getting my passwords and bookmarks.

all those patterns. ALL THOSE PATTERNS!  >:D
