Whitney Houston died from a pittance of an overdose of benzos for what you are talking about here. This further illustrates that you have no idea what you are talking about in any regard to mental illness and medications. I wasn't around then, but I do see you and many others jumping on her in here for pages on end for nothing more than talking about how she is considering applying for disability after being laid off. Which btw, she is specifically referencing SSDI here as per her own statements, which you people obviously don't even understand the difference in that she has paid into the system and should receive it as a social safety net if she meets the requirements and is in need.

 

The people responding to her are intentionally trying to antagonize, at that point (not before) she began giving obvious spurious and comedic responses. And this is for some reason taken seriously by people here. It is definitely more difficult, but you don't have to have concurrent disorders. You just have to make a sufficient case that you are unable to hold steady (meaning a regular work hour job or salaried position) in you realm of qualifications directly due to the symptoms of a severe mental illness. This is the hard part, and in mental illness cases, they typically require quite a bit of evidence as they are obviously not visibly identifiable in most people, especially during short hearings. This usually means presenting a large body of medical records indicating a pattern of persistent issues that would interfere currently or have interfered in the past with your ability to hold said types of positions.
