Zenigundam Posted August 31, 2017 Posted August 31, 2017 ... What's the joke? I mean what's the punchline, conan? This isn't making sense to me.
molarbear Posted August 31, 2017 Posted August 31, 2017 So an Island full of teenage girls? The movie would be 2 mins of girls gossiping about each other then 15-20 mins of all out war
Sandstone Posted August 31, 2017 Posted August 31, 2017 An all female cast being directed by 2 guys. Oh please god don't let this be another feminist throw away movie.... seriously you can have a good or decent movie with strong female characters in it.... that has a good plot and makes sense without just making everything about women for no damn reason. Especially these adaptations that fundamentally change gender roles for no apparent reason other than to make a statement. I loved Wonder Woman, I probably won't like this.
Codename: Jackass Posted August 31, 2017 Posted August 31, 2017 Plot twist: the Smoke Monster from Lost makes an appearance. Written by Damon Lindelof.
bnmjy Posted August 31, 2017 Posted August 31, 2017 I hope they have Amy Schumer play Piggy. She would be hilarious during that boulder scene.

DragonSinger Posted August 31, 2017 Posted August 31, 2017 So an Island full of teenage girls? The movie would be 2 mins of girls gossiping about each other then 15-20 mins of all out war If it were accurate, the movie would start with the girls being super sweet to each other, sharing the chores equally, and braiding each other's hair. Then after a week or two the "I will murder all you bitches" switch gets turned on, and that's when the island turns into Battle Royale. There is a way to do a female version well if it focuses on the pressure of societal norms like constantly told to be nice/good and how young girls react when they're suddenly free of that environment. I don't think that people in general are surprised by how the original Lord of the Flies turned out even if they hadn't read the book, but even when they make Mean Girl jokes or whatever, they don't really expect that kind of violence from girls. Which amuses me because girls can be frighteningly more creative and ruthless than boys.
