apparently

Just like a checkup or for a special procedure? Like I know my mouth is going to cost me 2 grand but that's AFTER insurance costs

The hell'd you do to it? Did they fix it or just say "Yep that's a fucked up shoulder that'll be 400 bucks"?

they said yep that's a fucked up shoulder that'll be 400 bucks and some cortisone. i hurt it working out because i'm an idiot.

i have insurance but it barely does anything. i've just considered paying cash and hoping the places i go will be cheaper

Drop that insurance and get obamacare. I pay $0 out of pocket for doctors and medicine.

it's what i had to pay when i saw the doctor for my shoulder. i'm going to have to go again and pay another 400

Jesus, me seeing a specialist without insurance was around 358. Unless this doctor is also doing some type of very expensive procedure on you, there is no reason to be paying this much each visit.

Wtf is wrong w/u that it costs $400 when you have insurance?

Or maybe this is an elective procedure?

Plenty of insurance companies have things basically set up to deny pretty much anything they want but gods help you if you don't pay them. There's also deductibles to meet for some things before the insurance will even think of kicking in - often after you've gone broke.

My insurance company and the hospital are still fighting over the costs of my scans from earlier this year because the insurance company didn't give their permission or some such shit while the hospital is saying that yes, it was the easiest / most cost effective thing to do at the time and should therefore be covered. Meanwhile, I can't do anything forwards or backwards. I'm seriously thinking of sending them both  baggies the next time I cough up blood blobs and asking them if they'll cover it now.  :|

too long; didn't read = insurance companies just want all your money and then they want you to die.

i made another appointment for the doctor again next tuesday. i'm not leaving until they do an MRI. it'll be another 400 or maybe more but i'm not playing this game until i can change plans next year

It sounds like they'll payout tho especially if the hospital is on your side & dealing w/then.

Nope, they aren't really on my side either. They just don't want to deal directly with me since there's a complaint currently on file about their doctor's lack of brain cells and how the patients have to pay for it. I went in with vertigo, upper abdominal cramping reaching from under the right ribcage around towards the lower back, coughing up blood, passing blood and the 'usual' chest pains. I left with a prescription for nasal spray and an eventual bill for $300 for the visit. :|

.........Something isn't right here.....There is a piece missing.  Even when I worked as Easy Tech at Staples and all they had was Aflac, none of my specialist visits were over $60

He said he has Aeta. Aeta is assholes. They don't hire doctors to make the medical cover-or-no-cover decisions, they hire accountants and give them a 'Denied' rubber stamp to use.
