No. Spanish words and phrases are used extensively for place names, food staples, and idioms, as occasionally are words from the Mesoamerican languages in historical contexts. Most of us born here learn to use the pronunciation automatically, and without having become fluent. But I am proficient enough to read and understand the more common phrases.

Lol. I'm jealous of Pooh"s accent. Californians don't have a particularly distinct accent, at least not in English. Mesoamerican Spanish (our other native tongue) influences our vowels and some short consonants, but that can disappear quickly depending on who we are talking with.
