There is no Helmet law here, and the reason is the same reason Motorcycle insurance is cheap, you don't normally live through an accident with a 2k+ piece of aluminum or steel traveling at 45 mph. Even with a helmet on you're going to hit the ground traveling at high speeds, even if you "prepare for the fall" flesh hitting a side rail or metal sign at 45 mph, it's not going to end well usually. That being said, I don't ride anymore but insist on people wearing their seat belts in my vehicle
