  1. Who are you, exactly?
  2. You must be a barrel of laughs to have a conversation with mochi.
  3. I'm just endlessly amused that they're using the Superhuman Samurai Syber Squad name.
  4. There's one line from Rocket Power that always sticks in my head: "You used a lawn mower on your carpet! Twice!" "...it grew back!"
  5. By that definition I've been old since I was 10.
  6. Yeah, it was actually readable.
  7. Or I guess you could ignore someone who knows what the hell they're talking about and wants to make this place better in lieu of, I dunno, letting a bunch of total crotchstains run rampant all over the place. I mean christ, who do I have to suck off to get a competent moderation policy? Because I have a bottle of Scope ready to go here.
  8. For what has to be the fourth or fifth time, it's not a matter of "hating" someone. Yes, I think Zeni is a pathetic waste of oxygen whom no rational actor would want to spend more than five minutes interacting with. But that's entirely beside the point. An impartial observer would tell you straight to your face that a user who has never made any sort of positive contributions to a community, who regularly posts borderline-pedophilic insinuations, whose first act after getting unbanned was to spam the hell out of the forum index with useless drivel, has lost the privilege to participate here. Do you really want a new user to stumble across this place, wander into FFA, and see an entire board index full of Zeni? Like, is that the sort of community you're trying to promote? Because I hate to tell you, but no one in their right mind would want to dive into that hot mess. It doesn't matter whether or not the community is "of one single mind." A), that's impossible, and B), it doesn't matter, because we're not moderators. YOU are. So moderate! What more data could you possibly need? Were literally more than a decade's worth of unchanging posts not enough for you? I have literally no comprehension as to how any sort of additional sitting-on-of-hands is warranted. He has never changed, and he will never change. As someone who has actually done rocket science, this isn't rocket science. Someone posts shit, you ban them, we all move on with our days. I have been participating on forums for over 15 years, I've seen a lot of good moderators work, hell, I've even moderated myself. This is about as clear-cut of a case as you will ever see, and I simply cannot understand how you can't see that. Like, this is the dirty little secret of the ASMB: it was frequently a really shitty place to post, and I place that blame squarely on the original setup and policies that founded it. For a long while we had enough good posters around to mitigate those factors, but as enough of them left over the years the festering underbelly began to assert itself. And by that point you guys had already established that you wouldn't use long-term bans for pretty much anything, and it wouldn't matter anyway because of that absurd infinite-alt policy that rendered any one particular account pretty much worthless. You have your own forum here, a fresh start, and yet you're continuing the same policies that eventually led to the clusterfuck that was NodeBB. And it frustrates the hell out of me to see you not take any concrete lessons from that.

    So...

Gee it's almost like this was completely predictable or something.
  10. This is not moderating Luuv. Half your userbase shouldn't have to ignore a single problem user. If someone only contributes garbage to a community, you remove them from said community. Period. Like seriously, how did you spend almost 15 years at the ASMB and still not figure shit like this out?
  11. That would actually require him to be a functioning member of society, so no.
  12. If they're still acquiring Gundam series, cost/benefit suggests they have to be satisfied with the numbers they're seeing. I kind of thought it was an accepted fact by now that trying to interpret Nielsen nonsense is an exercise in futility.
  13. 80%. Not bad for having seen exactly zero of them.
  14. Unicorn was fantastic, albeit reliant on at least a passing knowledge of Universal Century Gundam. Tokyo Ghoul is...what it is, but there is an audience for it. But really this is the old "I don't like shows X and Y so therefore no one will watch them" argument that I was hoping could be left in the fetid grave of the ASMB. So much for that.
  15. Yeah man playing shows people want is such a bitch.
  16. I know nothing about finances, but I'd qualify McDonald's, Burger King, and Wendy's as the main trio just by virtue of being the default nationwide burger joints. Most other burger chains seem to be more regional.
  17. Yeah I'm calling bullshit on that. He looked like he was about 7.
  18. Wendy's is easily the best of the big three.
  19. I like having a beard, but neckbeard can go straight to hell and die.
  20. Or hey maybe it's that, and hold on because I know this is a wild concept, having dedicated folders for topics a substantial chunk of your userbase wants to discuss is how forums have operated since they were first conceived.
  21. HORRY SHEEEEET!
  22. Ugh, I wouldn't go nearly that far. Death Note was at the very least watchable, but it wasn't remotely the sort of intellectual fare that so many of its fans hold it up to be. All it really did was replace the standard sort of shounen power-up posturing with the equivalent overly-verbose dialogue posturing. I remember that one episode where Light and L were playing tennis against each other, and their inner monologues were literally that meme image of "Now it is I who am behind you!" It was completely insufferable writing. Then there was the fact that the authors disposed of one of the best elements of the story at the halfway point and had absolutely nothing of consequence to replace them with, which just smacks of narrative incompetence. But what frustrates me the most is that the series never made any pretenses at making any sort of judgement, whether positive or negative, on Light's actions. The authors have admitted as much too. If you're going to create a character like Light, at least have the balls to make some sort of statement about him. Let's call a spade a spade: Death Note was a mostly standard shounen with unique window dressing and an insufferable twat of a protagonist that managed to squander the very real potential it had. Now if you want a truly-good cat-and-mouse game that actually dwells on the nature of evil, go watch/read yourself some Monster.
  23. Also "puberty."
  24. Dude, like 300 people watch that stream. Do you think it will have even the remotest effect on the marathon?
