Place I interviewed at a few weeks ago called me back today
tsar4 replied to Swimmod_Luna's topic in Free-For-All
You may have bombed the interview. But once they interviewed the other candidates, they decided you were better than what they saw afterward. It happens. The last time I interviewed candidates, the one that looked the best on paper spent almost the entire interview telling us we needed to buy some software she used at her previous job. After 5 minutes, I was ready to walk out - but I put up with the remaining 10 min, until my boss got there for her turn. The candidate did the same thing to her. -

Hey, thanks! I knew I'd forgotten re-adding somebody after Spotify lost half my music. -
Munitions companies.

If it was bathing with a bath brush, I'd guess it was Heckle or Jekyll. But being bigger than normal sounds more like it should have been sitting on the pallid bust of Pallas.

The people you manage won't like you because they'll see you as a brown nosed sell out. The people that manage you won't like you because they'll see you as a potential threat to their position. Have fun.

You have so much to learn, young one.

How's that going to beat a whiny ol' white woman or Walter the puppet's double? -
Masochist!

Don't believe them. Mgmt will either put the reviews for the most difficult people first (if they're smart) or last (bad move). Short reviews are great, from the reviewer's perspective. It means they didn't have much they could complain about & you didn't give them an ulcer by complaining about everything/everyone. I hated giving reviews.

Clicked some link when I wasn't really paying attention & ended up with "Golden Palace Casino" virus. Took about half a day to clean the thing out of everywhere it had infested.

Why does anyone give a shit about the royal wedding?
tsar4 replied to That_One_Guy's topic in Free-For-All
The news stated that the Royal Family paid for the ceremony. The town of Windsor I think was paying for the stuff outside, but considering the tourists there lining the route and shucking out $$$ into the local economy, I doubt they took a loss. -

I didn't wake up to watch. The Sun came up & the freakin' birds were chirping outside. I came downstairs & it was on at the point where they were doing the vows. -

Didn't care about the particpants, but the ceremony was interesting. Kinda wondered about the aisle - since the procession walks out over the final resting place of Henry VIII, Jane Seymour & King Charles I - I guess they never had the "it's disrespectful to walk on someone's grave" thing in England...unless it is meant as a diss. And unlike others in my family, I don't know much about horses, but I could tell there was one during the carriage ride that wanted to break free & run. The rider was really having to fight with it. -
It's that thing that keeps you from getting Alzhiemer's - keeps the plauque outta your brain.

Did anyone else grow up with no PC or television set in your room...
tsar4 replied to J.M. Matthews's topic in Free-For-All
We only had one TV when I was growing up (Living Room). We didn't get a color tv until I was 9, maybe a 19 inch diagonal at that time. One phone in the Kitchen. I think I finally got a landline phone when I was 17. Should have been careful what I wished for, all the phones rang when the store alarm went off at 2am. Didn't get a tv until I was 25 & had moved out. My folks sent me a 12" B&W that had been hit by lightning - to turn it off, you had to unplug it.
