3/8 - watching the Ladies call the Blues/Hawks game. They're technically alright, but there's no excitement to the call. And they shouldn't be talking about what one of the players said in an interview when one of the teams is threatening.

There are only 2 things I remember from "St. Elsewhere". The ending episode, and Mandel as Dr. Fiscus performing his latex glove standup routine for someone. That person doesn't laugh, and Mandel said something like, "Well, it was funny when the guy on tv did it". I always wondered what brought on his "hide from the world, germaphobe" stage. Thought about it some more & I think Mandel/Fiscus is in a hospital bed for some reason & 2 of the other doctors try to cheer him up by doing the latex glove routine, and Mandel doesn't laugh.

I appear to have survived my annual trip to the doc for blood tests, where I sat for a time next to a guy coughing up a lung. That was followed by 2 hrs at the DMV to get a new license, where I sat next to a little kid who was blowing snot bubbles (his mom told his school that he was running a temp on her cell). Felt like I needed to take another hot shower when I got home. None the worse for wear, thankfully.

The cast got a letter from Gene Roddenberry, who saw the show & loved it. I think they were shooting one of the movies at the time & he showed it to that cast.
