I would hope not. Old/rotten latex balloons can have an extremely potent stench and that stench can easily spread and stinkify everything else in the vicinity (even if the balloons in question are still in their original bag). Rotten latex stench is a bitch to get rid of and can more or less ruin fabrics, foams, and even some plastics.
