I grabbed the game when it was free on EGS a couple years ago but I never got to the point of installation. Was totally afraid of getting completely sucked in.

This is probably the crux of the issue. If negative reactions and punishments aren't breaking through to him, then they will only serve as a temporary roadblock instead of a learning experience (in fact he could be learning the wrong things, like how to sneak it around his parents). That's probably a question for his therapist if he has one.

Yeah I'm wondering if he's actually like emotionally connecting the overspending to the punishment. Like does he internally recognize it's bad to overspend when he gets in trouble? Or did he just cry purely because he was punished? One thing in his defense though is that "properly" developed freemium games are intentionally addictive. Every aspect is geared towards instant gratification dopamine hits and they are literal poison.

How does he respond to the punishment at the time?

UFOs: Not just for Tinfoil Hats anymore
Raptorpat replied to Master-Debater131's topic in Current Events
I read a thread somewhere that showed all the scientists' evidence, about the DNA and the bone structure and the eggs and the liquid diet mouth and I'm just kinda hung up on like "if there was an alien, would it *really* have two arms, two legs, a humanoid face and body structure, opposable thumbs, eggs, or even like DNA as we understand it?" I just assume aliens aren't just star wars, it'd probably be stuff we wouldn't even know to comprehend. Buuuuuuuuuuuut it is fun to think about, so I get it. -

are you sure you didn't spend $20 on Flubber and got a free TV out of it

I just went looking, and yeah jeopardy is not SAG-struck so that's the contractual out for Ken. Mayim as I understand it stood down out of solidarity at the end of last season, not out of union obligation. https://www.thewrap.com/ken-jennings-host-season-40-jeopardy-strikes/ And the producers forced production into gear while glossing over the WGA issue by reusing old WGAW material to shoot filler games. A lot of name-brand champs (within the jeopardy universe) refused to participate in a tournament of champions in this context, so they're doing a "second chance" tournament because there's a much larger pool of possible contestants to account for people refusing out of solidarity.

I'm also curious about Ken Jennings. I've heard everything from him being a scab to there being a specific carve-out that allows him to host Jeopardy, but he doesn't talk about it so I don't know the reality.

I remember them doing all sorts of stupid things to fill airtime (like the three-way feud) but I didn't remember it all being intentionally bad. Either way, was it really controversial in the way that it is now, or was it accepted but the pro strike people?

What were the strike politics when Conan/Stewart/Colbert returned to air during the last writers strike?

no just wait @Rogue_Alphonse

There were three times in my life where I came close to fixing it. Twice on school breaks where I had no time commitments, I literally just pushed myself to stay up later and later every night/day until I rounded the horn and was organically waking up at 7am and I held onto it for a couple weeks before falling back into a routine. When I started a job fall 2016, I was just so stressed and withdrawn that everything was forced out except my physical needs. So I'd just like drop what I'd be doing practically mid-sentence and just walk to bed. That went away once I got over the shell shock. I'd recommend #1, but it's virtually impossible for most anyone to find a two week block of time with minimal obligations where you have the freedom to sleep or wake up at any hour of the day.

Thanks tsar, but my real objective though is kinda more to spin the future out to everyone. The collective. The hivemind.
