  2. Breakdancing is definitely going the way karate did in 2021 after that farce where the guy that got knocked out won the gold because of an excessive contact rule.
  3. So I read the end of MHA.
  4. https://www.axios.com/2024/08/10/trump-calls-harris-bitch-repor I am genuinely surprised this hasn’t happened earlier. Still, probably can’t use that as your demeaning catchphrase at rallies.
  5. To be fair this is a decently common practice. Netflix saved Nimona from Disney trashing it and got an Oscar nomination for the trouble. I could see them being interested.
  6. Oh I get it. Kevin Sorbo was trying to hook Don up with a pass to reaffirm support to the white supremacist crowd. See this is why everyone still likes Lucy Lawless but he’s forgotten.
  7. He just wants to know where to send his application for the pass.
  8. I don’t know, I feel like that would encourage a lot of flame wars and a parasocial relationship with a corporate entity that preys upon that loyalty. Maybe I’m worrying too much.
  9. Texas’s voting laws are so fucked up they’re a guaranteed R regardless.
  10. Finished Gundam SEED.
  11. “Throw it all overboard!”
  12. It'd be one thing if they were working with a lot of action-oriented IP or IP based on comics. After all, we got Suicide Squad Isekai out of that, and for better or worse it seems to be doing rather well. But this is Adult Swim, home of the Adult Swim Stoner Series. Nothing in the current list of stuff that isn't already anime benefits from an anime spin-off in the same way Highlander or the DC characters did, where it's taking these action properties and giving them a different lens. Hell, most of the shows relying on looking weird, low-budget, or otherwise, and this would be a square peg in a round hole. And as for the original action properties, the ones we have that aren't anime are desperately trying to imitate anime only without the stuff that makes Tumblr writers feel icky. So making it actual anime doesn't work. Making Invincible Fight Girl anime wouldn't fix it, it'd just make the Japanese viewers want to watch more Kinnikuman.

  15. New polling shows the GOP’s biggest anti-Biden talking point continuing to hurt them as the majority of voters feel Trump is too old to be president. https://www.politicalflare.com/2024/08/shock-poll-majority-of-voters-say-trump-is-too-old-to-be-president/
  16. https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/politics-news/election-2024-hollywood-silicon-valley-1235967050/ The Hollywood Reporter is analyzing the divide between pro-Trump techbros and their weird beliefs, and anti-Trump Hollywood, a rivalry bolstered by the traditional divide between the two.
  17. Issue #4 just hit physical and digital shelves today, and it remains a very good comic that leans into its retro-futuristic angle (Space Ghost saying "blast it" instead of "damn it" feels like something done to keep the vibe of the old show) while not being afraid to show Zorak rather gruesomely gut guards in the prison he escaped from. Anyway, as befitting Zorak, his first appearance is a two parter...to be continued next month. If you like classic HB action cartoons or pulpy space adventures, this is worth a read.
  18. It’s worth noting that the Smiling Friends crew said they might do an anime episode, but would turn down a full spinoff. Adult Swim can’t do a serious Space Ghost like Dynamite is doing, so that’s out. Honestly, I don’t see it being a real sector for any of their shows. Hell, Rick is kind of taking the joke too far if you ask me.
  19. The GOP is cartoonishly evil at this point rejecting those but approving child labor. It’s true that their voter block doesn’t care if they suffer so long as they perceive others suffer more.
