I was hoping it would premiere opposite the second half of Kinnikuman Perfect Origin, or even funnier, the same night as Saturday Night’s Main Event in December. Oh God, we’re going to have AEW talent advertising this show, aren’t we? There goes my idea to have the promos for the show resemble pro wrestling promos.

Well, my reasoning is “Can DanDaDan keep up its momentum?” At the same time, we’re going to “Can Uzumaki turn it around or would Toonami be better off showing The Penguin?” I think that’s fair, mostly because DanDaDan blew minds with its first episode too.

I think the best comparison will be its third episode vs DanDanDan’s second. If that keeps up its pace, then Uzumaki has a DeMarco problem.

So he just admitted the rest of the series is going to be a shit show. They legitimately might have more goodwill if they just aired The Penguin instead. We know DanDanDan is off limits.

This is probably the first Junji Ito adaptation to really get the visuals down, which might be why it took so damn long. This is a visually beautiful series which really manages to sell the horror of what's going on with the spirals. It's also a damning indictment of the short-sightedness of Zaslav to sell Crunchyroll to Sony when it's clear anime is keeping up with all the stuff on Max. The only two shows ahead of Uzumaki today in top views are The Penguin and John Oliver.
