  1. I still remember back in the day one ASA night had nothing but ads for gum. That was back when [adult swim] couldn’t advertise booze.
  2. Army of the Dead - 7/10. Fun zombie movie with two big Snyder weaknesses. It runs too long and Zack Snyder really wishes he directed Lord of The Rings before Peter Jackson did.
  3. Ever wonder what Gundam would have looked like if it was available in the 90s and Marvel licensed it? This is as close as you’ll get to knowing.
  4. The Superman show looks like dogshit unfortunately, since it looks like the same losers that ran She-Ra into merchandising hell to the point Mattel is trying to forget it happened. The Batman show, that is probably Toonami bound if DeMarco gets his way.
  5. And not to be outdone we're getting a Superman series as well, focusing Superman and Lois as their careers begin and advance.
  6. Bruce Timm, Matt Reeves, and JJ Abrams are all on board, and DeMarco is probably hoping to get it the same way they got gen:Lock from Rooster Teeth.
  7. We actually are getting a Mario movie from the Minions people, but people who do this oughta be blacklisted. Causes everyone to lose their shit for 2 hours before it's reported fake.
  8. Nvm. I hope that jackoff gets blacklisted.
  9. https://finance.yahoo.com/news/ts-warnermedia-discovery-inc-creating-111000666.html Deal is official.
  10. https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2021-05-16/at-t-is-said-in-talks-to-combine-content-assets-with-discovery-kor6r2uj Short version is AT&T figures its quickest way out of debt is to get out of entertainment and focus on its core telecom business. To that end, they plan to spin off the Warner Media library and combine it with Discovery while still keeping a stake in the business. Discovery meanwhile hopes to position the new entity as better able to take on Netflix. That includes Cartoon Network.
  11. I would assume it’s the same reason that Adult Swim did their damndest to reconcile with creators like Brendon Small after they lost the Family Guy rights.
  12. They may have been joking but most of the fandom and a lot of the creators took it seriously. Like I said, they lorded their “only game in town” status over the plebs until mass streaming broke their monopoly. There was a motherfucker on the old ASMB that had an entire site dedicated to shitting on anime and attacking anyone who had anything positive to say. “I think anime STINKS and I’m not gonna apologize.”
  13. Is it bad that I sort of guess Elfie was overreacting? Nice to know I was right.
  14. It is a damn good cast list they got. Given Smith credit, he has pull.
  15. That’s George Lucas’s FX team. https://variety.com/2021/film/news/ultraman-movie-netflix-tsuburaya-shannon-tindle-1234972658/amp/?__twitter_impression=true

  17. It’s S1 footage with evidence Michael B. Jordan is recording new lines.
  18. Commence the Rooster Teeth QUALITY jokes.
  19. https://www.animationmagazine.net/features/adult-swim-greenlights-aqua-teen-hunger-force-metalocalypse-the-venture-bros-original-movies/ So much for my theory about VB being cancelled to avoid the wrath of WarnerMedia, but Metalocalypse is back!
  20. Or “we’re still going to try to air Galaxy Trio episodes in 1995”. The first action block was “Super Adventures” with dusty 60s Hanna-Barbera cartoons, including one they did of the Fantastic Four. (Fun fact, except for the Fantastic Four for really obvious reasons, when Toonami was a featured part of a DC comic called “Cartoon Network Presents”, all the stories were based on these old shows. Because they had the rights to Galtar gathering dust). Then we got “Afternoon Adventures” Fun fact, the very first Toonami schedule was primarily leftovers from Afternoon Adventures, including a random episode of the 60s shows called “Cartoon Roulette.” It was only later on they stumbled on anime...and changed how the entire medium is viewed.
  21. It went slightly better than Trump hosting because Musk can at least make fun of himself. So between Musk, the UFC, and a Canelo Alvarez boxing match, it was a tough night for Toonami. The block simply isn’t appointment television anymore the way sports and live programming are.
