  1. Zaslav to HBO Max subscribers -
  2. Horizon’s been hinted at ever since Sony made their division to adapt games to film and television (so far they just have that Uncharted movie) but Bioshock has apparently been floating around Hollywood for years. Netflix rescuing half dead scripts like that is what they used to do, and honestly, what I would rather than do before they inevitably make a live action Ururesi Yatsura.
  3. So in light of Warner literally not having enough money to properly advertise their films, this came up - Probably explains why all that animation was gutted.
  4. HIDIVE is admittedly a bit less bad news for Toonami, given that it also hosts all the Lupin series’s. We may see it down the line.
  5. Dragonball Super: Super Hero. Fun movie on a weekday night. Attack on Titan 84-87. Well, that’s in the books.
  6. There are some vague rumors Cartoon Network itself might be shut down when all is said and done, but that’s probably a bridge too far. That being said, Warner is running out of money.
  7. Destroying the footage would mean destroying the evidence of labor they want that precious tax write off for. Unwise.
  8. https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/movies/movie-news/batgirl-canceled-hbo-max-film-gets-secret-screenings-1235205323/ The footage still exists, the directors were just blocked from having it. Hence these “funeral screenings.”
  9. Maybe. Honestly I could see Netflix getting it. I still want to know who greenlit a Family Matters anything in 2022. Family Matters. Urkel. This - This thing was a stereotype when it was on roughly 30 years ago.
  10. Their big lead show is airing both on a popular (for the moment) streamer and as a first run production on linear television. A lot of the juice is squeezed out at that point. Newer programs in the fall should alleviate that.
  11. Battinson is back presumably because it’s not animated.
  12. Watch as Zaslav fires Genndy anyway.
  13. Zaslav's cuts extend to other projects - Why the hell Warner was making a damn Family Matters Christmas special in 2022 is another matter altogether, but it's dead now.
  14. So much for the idea of it airing on Toonami. Watch as the Superman cartoon meets a similar fate.
  15. Had the show kept going, we would have seen more guns. And that would have been amazing. Two more random trivia notes while I’m at it - 1. Adrienne Barbeau was one of the voices in this! She plays Beryl and Queen Serenity, which is just…really? I know she was going into voice work around this time, but ouch. 2. It’s the same set as Saved by the Bell: The College Years. The Power Rangers were often joked of as being Saved by the Bell with kung fu, so this brings it full circle as a ripoff of Rangers (this attempt, not the original which was a female centric take on the Sentai formula, but not a ripoff of such).
  16. Paprika was originally a book, but on the other hand, Birds of Prey was a flop.
  17. Depends on what the “outdoor” is. I’ve gotten into bike rides when it’s nice out, and I like hanging out by the beach and the pool, especially in the era of wi-fi and tablets. But rain and the like? I’ll pass.
  18. Beavis and Butthead debating the merits of BTS.
  19. As a stand-alone product, it is hilariously wretched. It is everything wrong with not only American animation during the 90s, but female action cartoons since forever. Ami in the wheelchair, making Makoto a black girl just to try and follow Power Rangers' model. But as a time capsule of the early 90s, it is hilariously brilliant. To think, when this was produced, American animation producers decried Japanese productions as low budget and poorly executed. The people who pitched this, TO THIS DAY, believe that this version of Moon would have been infinitely more successful than the original. So as a historical time capsule of the 90s, it's ironically brilliant. All that was missing was the inevitable replacing of Usagi's wand with a gigantic cannon straight out of a Rob Liefeld comic.
  20. Battles are won by territory claimed, not death. Then again, I feel people want to communicate the human cost to make people reluctant to fight. Case in point, Russia is apparently having issues recruiting, raising the specter of either withdrawal or a draft. https://www.pravda.com.ua/eng/news/2022/08/21/7364213/
  21. Correction, $21 million, nearly double Elba’s movie. Yeah, you’re not fighting Superman dude.
  22. Apparently the damn thing was buried in the Library of Congress this whole time!
  23. https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/movies/movie-news/dragon-ball-super-2-box-office-beast-1235202865/ Probably going to see it during the week.
  24. AOT 84. Tekken Bloodline 2-6.
