We should be so lucky to get New Frontier instead of Death Beats. -

Those are both good ones. New Frontier in particular is great. -
I still expect to see Bebop back on regular rotation when the LA series debuts and presumably sucks. DeMarco has an easy layup, going “this is how Bebop should look, not like a lame low budget drama with Current Year politics,”

Nikkei Asia reports Sony nears finalization of Crunchyroll acquisition

That also means CR’s original line is mostly dead in the water. FUNi doesn’t need Webtoons in bulk or lame Avatar clones. -
IIRC it didn’t air in the US. It was a Singaporean dub.

Sony is now the name in the West for anime with Netflix in second.

netflix So it looks like there is a Wolverine anime coming to Netflix?

It was a Stan Lee take on Tetsujin 28. Shame about the legal stuff. -

If you rewatch them all now, it really feels like the studio wanted to make a 52 episode X-Men series, since X-Men has way higher production values and a more coherent story. Wolverine IIRC is pretty much the Frank Miller Wolverine miniseries, which The Wolverine movie covered later anyway. -
Rick & Morty's 'Samurai & Shogun' short is getting a sequel

In what little defense of Gemusetto I can muster, its showrunner wasn’t embezzling funds. -
He lampshades the first part, anyway. His appearance in the kinda follow up Future Avengers runs with the same basic idea, that he really wants to be a big deal in Japan. (For what it’s worth, despite its goofy as hell premise, Disk Wars was actually considered pretty good, not as good as Earth’s Mightiest Heroes, but definitely better than Avengers Assemble).

He showed up in the Disk Wars anime...with Dio's VA.

Yes it’s digital only. Can the Merc with a Mouth move manga fans to superhero adventures or is this destined for an early end like Spider Man Fake Red?

Looks like it’s a smartphone game, and an anime. https://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2020-12-05/code-geass-franchise-gets-new-anime-series-smartphone-game/.167111

You’re never making any of these game or anime properties into films. Ever. You’re never making Gundam, never making Naruto (thank God), and never making Bioshock. Knock it off. Isaac will be in some drama next year.

They aren’t stupid enough to do that, I hope. “Astro Girl” could be a placeholder title until things get taken over. There was a similar issue with a local Fox affiliate over here when they scored the rights to Seinfeld. Since another network was using the Seinfeld name, they used a placeholder name “Jerry and Elaine.”
