  1. And the opening. Sentai bagged the rights, so it will premiere on HiDive/VRV.
  2. Toonami doesn’t show movies, and I think you can blame the success of Invincible for convincing Amazon animation is a growth sector.
  3. I’m more surprised Amazon is doing this, since they haven’t really done a lot of newer animation. I can only guess Invincible made them decide it made more sense.
  4. And they’re going to air with a Prime Video subscription on August 13. So you can watch it if you’re interested.
  5. Amazon has stayed away from animation, but maybe Invincible convinced them to try again.
  6. It’s a co-production and presumably CR threw more money into it.
  7. The unconfirmed rumor is this is Netflix bound so nothing needs to be censored.
  8. Have fun next to the On the Mountains of Madness script in Development Hell.
  9. It has Jet Jaguar and what looks like the guy from Gintama. I’m sold.
  10. Rick and Morty is the new Family Guy, which is good since Family Guy is going bye bye.
  11. The first fight had some issues apparently. Show is currently #8 in the US Netflix Top 10 though.
  12. That will shoot up their subscriptions.
  13. Yes, one of the few projects from the short-lived Crunchyroll/Adult Swim alliance is set to air sooner than you would think. Can the Pirate Princess get ratings or will this fail to compete with the likes of Record of Ragnarok?
  14. Looks like filming has begun, unlike the glacial pace of One Piece. Some guy named Takumi Kitamura is playing Yusuke.
  15. This is what happens when you have a quarter the budget of your competitor. This stuff takes time and the last year and a half wasn’t exactly good for production.
  16. As its name implies, RetroCrush is a service focused on well, retro anime. Stuff from the Discotek archives like the Fatal Fury OVA's and mecha anime from the 80s like Giant Gorg. Even some Toonami vets like Ronin Warriors and Cyborg 009 are in there. But this being picked up by NBC Peacock probably speaks to how everyone and their mother wants to have some Japanese cartoons on their service, even if it's older material like Blue Seed.
  17. Considering Netflix keeps reporting their anime viewership is going up, it makes sense to use that branding. On the other hand, Mark Hamill as Skeletor. I can’t exactly stay mad at this.
  18. So I take it you don’t want the lunchbox they’re selling. https://www.bigbadtoystore.com/Product/VariationDetails/166822
  19. They should have gone the He-Man route. Better VA’s and an 80s song in the trailer.
  20. Here’s the embedded version with Bonnie Tyler. No really, they use Bonnie Tyler.
  21. Hiro Mashima’s follow up to Fairy Tail is headed to Netflix for maximum eyeballs and maximum fan anger.
  22. Straight up, this is the sort of trailer I would make, complete with 80s music -
