Anime has definitely proven to be more valuable for on-demand, streaming services to watch ongoing plots than it has been for the dying linear networks which are better served with standalone material that you can head in and out of. Despite DeMarco's pleas to the contrary, appointment television is not a thing anymore unless it's sports. It's why streamers are willing to pay so much more for the material than Toonami, they have the money and they need it more.
