5 1/2. 2 1/2 under my head for actual sleep while there's one on either side of that and the crap-tastic memory foam one that went flat in a week is sort of an extra head board at this point. The half one is one of those weird tube pillows used to brace necks better. I've had it since I cracked my skull years ago. I heard that that Me Pillow is pretty firm and keeps it's shape well plus it's machine washable but have never bothered to try it.
