  1. They typically don't do action announcements at the Upfronts. You'd be more likely to hear release dates for Apollo Gauntlet and Hot Streets, and the like.
  2. Well, my brain seemingly can't stop listening to "Future Times". And it's got some songs that are good for a pick-me-up.
  3. I bet you can't go a day without seeing something interesting in your daily life and relating it to Toonami. :420:
  4. The boob string? Nah, that's become old hat. And when you've had a freakin' boobie monster on the block, in addition to multiple attempted rapes and many other smutty moments in general, this kind of thing is pedestrian.
  5. That is blatantly false, and I don't know where you got it from. At least the latter is handled by the American division of the show's production company, Dentsu. And I think the dubs are recorded in California.
  6. Okay... wow. The dude who sent the original tweet was not very chivalrous about it. I'm surprised Sentai looked past their rudeness. But yeah, I'd do Log Horizon... and maybe DanMachi or GATE. Also, while I kinda wanted High School of the Dead on the block before, I actually recently bought the premium box set and started watching it recently. So it showing up on the block would be pretty inconvenient! It's funny how things work out.
  7. That speech was going to air on April 1st, but it got preempted by Rick and Morty. S: [change places]
  8. Yeah, he's been on Last Week Tonight ever since it started. I should probably watch that new segment on Net Neutrality soon. owo
  9. Though I still haven't caught up on Toonami... High School of the Dead #2 Re:ZERO -Starting Life in Another World- #20 and #21 Kemono Friends #10
  10. Okay. So... Jack and Ashi kiss, and Dean Martin is singing in the background. What in the hell? The moment itself was pretty nice, but having generic 60's romance music that's almost in the public domain is so very not-Jack. Not in a while has a single moment on Toonami left me in bewilderment like that. And this episode was all right, but it felt... pretty lucid on the whole. And the art style was slightly different. Jack's skin was darker than normal. Did someone pull a prank on the animators with this one? -_'
  11. Kemono Friends #8 and #9 High School of the Dead #1 [don't look back in anger]
  12. I honestly never even thought of them doing a rerun for Jack. Maybe on a different day, but not during Toonami. After how badly Attack on Titan S1 reruns bombed, I doubt they'd do anything like that again.
  13. Super staying at 8 could be a side effect of whatever Toei wants from them. They very well could end up a week behind, which would not do the 11:30 airing any favors. ::HMM:: And Jack airing at 11:00 is probably just a side effect of how the schedule is managed, but I still expect a marathon of that whole new season to air on the day.
  14. There's now an audio-only version of Pre-Flight for those who want a more portable Toonami experience. Check it out here.
  15. BanG Dream! #13 (END) Re:ZERO -Starting Life in Another World- #19
  16. Why would they think about continuing the streak after Jack ends? This is just a subversion of the razor because the show is popular enough.
  17. I did, and you could've bumped it. http://unevenedge.imfapp.in/toonami/this-week-on-the-toonami-marathon-stream-dragon-ball-super!/
  18. Basically. Wake me up when we're out of the movie recap arcs.
  19. First of all, I think it should be obvious that Attack on Titan would be doing better if we weren't waiting two-and-a-half years for the new season, or four in general. And an 800K average isn't too bad compared to what JoJo's sometimes got. I'm sure they made the deal with Funi for it for a good price, or else they wouldn't have placed it so late. About DB Super... yeah, I guess it's just general viewer apathy along somewhat with the 8:00P airing. One thing I suppose they could try would be, after Jack ends, to move it later on. Swap the Dragon Ball shows, or maybe Super and AoT until the latter ends. Perhaps the best way to get more people to watch the other airing of Super would be to hook those who don't expect it at the beginning of the block. Gundam Unicorn is still available to stream subbed, but it was also on Crunchyroll with both the sub and dub. But most Toonami viewers aren't the kind of people who would willingly seek out those sources to watch a show. So maybe it just isn't catching on with the public? And while I do expect them to air Season 2 of Iron-Blooded Orphans, that very well could be it for Gundam on Toonami. At least I've heard people say that IBO's second season is superior, so the franchise would go out in a high note. Really, I'm not in any sort of panic, because I know genuinely awful things could happen at any moment.
  20. Having Samantha Bee do solid numbers in the hour before Toonami might have cannibalized it a little. And she probably made a few hypocritical jokes, but the populace enjoyed him. Aside from not wanting her kids to attend a desegregated school district, I can only wonder what other personal demons were on the table. Other than that, Toei ruins everything. And/or it was a down night in general. But summer vacation is coming up fast, so here's hoping for a bounce.
  21. Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. it was... definitely a more eccentric film than the rest of the franchise. I liked the acting (Felicity Jones was pretty good), authentic of the resistance plot, and the general sense of grandeur as the story hopped between planets. Also, the cinematography and general direction were great and very slick. I much prefer the more basic flow of the movie to those annoying iris-outs and fade transitions of the older movies and The Force Awakens alike. Definitely an 8/10 movie, and I wish I had seen it in the theater.
  22. It's really too bad that Aniplex felt the need to prevent Funi from renewing the license. This was the one DVD I got before it went out of print, and it's paying off for me nicely.
  23. I don't know what was up with that. Maybe they were running low on time for whatever reason and had to make a cut? But the omakes showed even while Sand Whale and Me ate up a bunch of time, so I don't know why they'd do it. This was a good night of shows, but as has become unfortunately common recently, I really faded out during the second half of shows. I need to rewatch Hunter because of this, since I didn't pay attention.
  24. That has only a tangential relationship to the topic discussed. Though I will buy that nice-looking box set of the earlier Yes albums once I get enough money... and Amazon drops it to a low enough price.
