  1. I'm still expecting the usual Facebook announcement, or maybe they announce it on Pre-Flight for a change. They've managed to drag this out to a downright comical extent, so I can't see them not announcing it beyond this weekend. The fandom wanting to utterly lose it doesn't help things.
  2. I've already mentioned that they could drop the slot for a couple of weeks. Even if they schedule a marathon for June 30, you could start it at 11:00 after a preemption the week before to maintain continuity. It would at least look better on my personal ratings grid. That date is farther from the holiday, but the benefits are that AoT S3 starts alongside the full lineup instead of airing before a marathon, and FLCL Progressive is preempted with two episodes left instead of one... not that there isn't precedent for both situations.
  3. That depends on if the former is only one cour. I thought I heard that it was going to be longer, but nothing official has been said, and I feel like that may just be wishful thinking from the show's fanbase.
  4. Do you actually think they would use the 11:00 slot for anime premieres that aren't DBZ Kai? I dare say Made in Abyss (or something else that popular) would be an ideal replacement.
  5. Nah. It's because FLCL Progressive premieres in six weeks and they're rerunning the original out of convenience before then. Stop overthinking this. That's from DBZ Kai, so of course it's going to be lower. We won't know the real percentage until FLCL's numbers come out.
  6. What I find interesting is that Funi is only streaming it one episode at a time, or at least it says that on their website. This would suggest the same deal as with Attack on Titan S2 where it goes up some days after the Toonami broadcast.
  7. Some people actually don't regard SAO as a "true" isekai because it takes place in a virtual world, rather than a completely-disconnected alternate. If you have that opinion, the only one to ever air on Toonami is... uh, InuYasha? Also, get that shit about the smartphone show and Death March out of here. If you want a true isekai show for Toonami that doesn't suck, how about Knight's & Magic? It has good robot fights, the character development isn't bad, and with how utterly wholesome Ernesti is as well as how he affects the world around him, he might just end up being the hero this block doesn't know it needs. While I didn't love it, it managed to hold my attention for the entire run.
  8. Oh hey, look at what's coming out on Blu-ray in a little while... And no, I'm not cynical enough to link the one for the smartphone anime.
  9. I don't know if anyone is going to seek out the last two IBO episodes on their own time, and even then, a lot of Toonami's viewers are the kind of casuals who would never even know it's there. I don't think it's anything to worry about.
  10. Can you please stop?
  11. Considering that Mahouka doesn't have a dub and probably never will, I could already shoot down that post. Either way, thanks for playing.
  12. Well that must have been uncomfortable for many... as in the music video, let alone Polnareff's Bizarre Pedophilia Adventure. It came out of downright nowhere, not showing up on the on-air despite having a content rating, and it wasn't even mentioned this week's Pre-Flight. I wonder if this Jason suddenly aired this to let his frustrations out after the recent bombings in Syria.
  13. Yeah... I've already talked at length about this, but airing subbed shows is pretty much the exact opposite of what Toonami stands for, and it also completely defeats the point of why they did the April Fools' gag to begin with. But maybe it actually could happen. I'm thinking we get a more typical announcement on Facebook some time during the week. If they have to do another delay for some unholy reason, my first guess would be a rerun of Samurai Jack S5 being added.
  14. Fate/Apocrypha #22 Kakegurui #5 The IDOLM@STER #23
  15. Isn't that the show the banned Mr. Osomatsu episode was parodying? Well, some of it, before it all went to hell... like what's going on right now. The iDOLM@STER Episode 22: "On the Holy Night"
  16. Was it actually competent before? I just guess I'm happy they're playing more of each show.
  17. I am so down, mostly because it means I can watch the slot before JoJo's again.
  18. Arguably, the point of Pop Team Epic is that you're supposed to hate it. I personally liked the show, but not a whole lot, and yet any one complaint I have with it could be considered a compliment.
  19. Well, only one anime with a heavy S&M quotient was getting licensed this season, and it sure as hell wasn't Sweet Punishment. Ironically, that one isn't even being fansubbed right now, presumably because the uncensored version hasn't been released as normal and thus they're waiting for the BDs. Ho hum. Megalo Box #1 Laid-Back Camp #12 (END)
  20. I watched the first episode of this as part of the anime club, and while it wasn't all the way there for me, I did like it. It did a lot to set up the show as a good pilot should, with some world building, but also some proof-of-concept scenes about the titular sport and its tournament. You know... boxing, but with these robotic exoskeletons, except when they're built into peoples' bodies. Parts of it also gave me some Redline vibes, mostly with how raw the action was, as well as the scenes in the desert with the hero getting some tuning work done on his equipment. So that was pretty nice.
  21. It's on Hulu, and I guess the franchise has always been that way. No amount of SHOUTING is going to change that; I personally prefer more subtle emphasis.
  22. Oh... so I assumed it based on my personal ratings chart not showing them. Got it.
  23. Well, yeah. I probably should've disambiguated that. And GiTS actually got preempted in back-to-back weeks: first by a Halloween marathon, and then by the Aqua Teen Hunger Force movie airing as a DST special after that.
