  1. Never forget... the episode that made Jman ragequit the show. But he did come back, because I guess he typically does.
  2. I remember seeing him listed as "Cool Ice" from the credits.
  3. Well, Samurai Jack S5 was successful because so many people wanted it, and I expect the center to hold with the new FLCL seasons as well. When it comes to completely new productions, not all of them are going to be winners, but I hope Toonami's decreased reliance on ratings means that a show that would normally be an abject failure can still make money.
  4. All I care about is the new season of Cinderella Girls Theater. Of course, I do tend to watch two or three simulcasts a season based on what's popular, so we'll see what happens. I am actually scared for Back Street Girls, though. Depending on how the premise is treated, that one'll either be one of the best shows of the season, or the absolute worst.
  5. I was actually an active poster on the TF boards back in 2013-ish, when I first got into Toonami. It was fairly staid there, but fun. Ironically, I ended up abandoning it for a heap of shit in the shape of [adult swim]'s official boards.
  6. For what it's worth, I still want to watch Amai Choubatsu (err, Sweet Punishment?) if it ever ends up being subbed. Magical Girl Ore #9 How to Keep a Mummy #4 Log Horizon S1E1
  7. Nah, these are just bad. But that's okay. I feel like airing the promos during big sporting events is something Turner should have done by now, at least for the Samurai Jack revival or even a bigger dub premiere such as Attack on Titan (S1) or One-Punch Man. Nevertheless, we'll see how this does.
  8. So I've heard a rumor that the FLCL Progressive promo played during tonight's NBA playoff game, since... you know, TNT broadcasted it. I thought I heard someone say they should've done this for Attack on Titan. Either way, it's pretty cool if true.
  9. Definitely; the original ASMB (with the Lithium software) was by all means a shithole. Then we had the NodeBB boards, which were arguably even worse. Mmhmm. I should have really got to work on my own light novel/anime idea by now.
  10. The biggest problem for me is the idea of a Halloween marathon. We absolutely don't need one, at least with the changing circumstances. At the same time, I'm also a little surprised that Toonami has never done an Easter marathon. It's like Thanksgiving in that some people travel very far to meet up with their families. I feel like it wouldn't be a bad idea to do that if only so there can be a marathon in the first five months of the year. Also, they don't need to do a 4th of July marathon if the actual date falls in the middle of the week. But we'll see how they handle that a little while from now...
  11. Here's how I see this playing out: Viewer: "Aww, why do not get the regular shows this week? I'm disappointed." DeMarco: "This is like a gift to you. Don't you understand that you don't have to watch the shows every week?" Viewer: "But, that's what I want..." DeMarco: "You don't understand. Honestly, you're too obsessed with Toonami. Please sto-..." Viewer: "BUT I REALLY WANT MY ANIME. GAAAAAAH..." DeMarco: "No. Screw you, asshole. You will do something else productive instead of watching your anime, and you will like it." Viewer: "Uh... okay, I guess."
  12. When the apple blossoms bloom in the garden of your mind, I'll be... your biggest fan. The iDOLM@STER Episode 25: "Everyone, Together!" And that is... not the end of this show. Yes, Virginia, there is one episode left. Episode 26: "A Story Called 765pro" (plus some clean-up work) And with that, I end coverage of this series. It was an extremely fun ride, to the point where I'd say it's the best idol show I've ever seen, and in my top 10 anime I've ever seen... maybe even top 5. Would that be giving idols in general too much credit? I'll save any other opinions on this series for a later date, so as not to spoil potential blogging opportunities. The next show begins fairly soon. See you all in the database.
  13. Megalo Box #8 Mr. Osomatsu #20
  14. Maybe all the holiday marathons are just virtue signaling. It's like DeMarco doesn't want us to take these stupid Korean cartoons too seriously.
  15. I've seen tremendous praise given to the show in just about all publicity I've seen of it. The original Infomercial special this was based on probably got good reviews as well. On top of that, it's something I genuinely want to see, which speaks a lot to my current viewing situation when I've only watched two episodes of the most recent Rick and Morty season. Maybe you should stop blindly hating all live-action shows this network makes.
  16. I was extremely mad about nothing in particular and basically took a mulligan on the whole block. I only missed JoJo's and HxH, but the two shows I did watch (My Hero and the last FLCL) are probably worthy of another one because of how not into it I was.
  17. It's really not about that, but [adult swim]'s nihilistic desire for a new installment. They don't care about everyone else's opinions, because they discovered the show first, aired it, and it's basically their pride and joy after so many years. And if [as] thinks they can make a new FLCL series that isn't just a rehash of the original, and in fact it will be two of them will improve the world as we know it with their presence, then let them take a stab at things. It helps that I'm not as emotionally invested in the original show as other people.
  18. They did start the panel at 7. Maybe they skipped a repeat to avoid redundancy?
  19. Magical Girl Ore #7 and #8 The Eccentric Family #7 and #8
  20. Well, now you know why Turner hates these blasted Nielsen ratings, and why they think these should be abolished. It's a bit like trying to get rid of the Electoral College, except this time, the object of your hatred isn't directly screwing you over.
  21. Yeah, because I made the mistake of posting while angry. At least the mods deleted it, but then again, I basically begged them to. And being political on social media isn't really a bad thing to do at this point, if only because the current political climate basically requires it. Just look at DeMarco's feed; you might also see his likes if you follow him, which only makes it stronger.
  22. In another situation, I feel like this would be whiny complaining against the system. At least Turner is apparently doing well enough to warrant not needing good TV ratings... although I am somewhat skeptical.
  23. What do they think of Flint, MI still not having clean water? Hey... this belongs in the thread somewhere.
