  1. Considering that Netflix did virtually nothing to promote this show (even if outside hype powered it ahead, which might have been the point), it shouldn't be surprising that they managed to fuck up something. They're banking on you being too starved to care.
  2. LOL, not a good performance for Lupin. However cynical, maybe that one guy saying it should go to 3:00 is right. Part V was one of the most requested shows prior to its premiere. That implies a recent amount of people were watching the last series and made picking up this one financially viable.
  3. I watched the Lupin III premiere and liked it. It helps that this is a show where I haven't been spoiled on anything, unlike TPN. I also thought it was cool to see the references to the different versions of Lupin at the start... even the Pink Jacket series. It made me wish I'd watched more of the franchise outside of half of Part IV. Oh, and you have to love how they kept the "Everyone in the world is a cop" line for the dub. It sounded very natural and well-acted all around, perhaps because I was looking through the credits and saw that TMS Entertainment basically makes the dub, with multiple Japanese names involved. That made me think about how most of the series dubbed by Sentai I've watched sound more awkward than just about every one from either Funi or L.A. studios, regardless of their personnel. It's especially glaring when you go from the first season of Squid Girl to the second, and it's the worst thing about that particular dub, although I still like it overall.

  5. Mizutama Honey Boy 7/7.5 (and one-shots, because that's a thing) Schrodinger's Nekomiya-san (another, unrelated one-shot) The iDOLM@STER Cinderella Girls U149 44-47 Shimanami Tasogare 1/2 A series about loli idols between some thickly LGBTQ stories. That's how I like it.
  6. Not necessarily. It is pro-cop, but that's a different sin. Just my two cents. I'm not intending to continue a flammable conversation. Regarding the ratings, they're lower again, which always seems to happen whenever Toonami moves up the whole block. Maybe they'll stabilize again if they let it stay this way for a few months, but my more cynical mind thinks it'll be messed with again beforehand.
  7. iM@S CG Theater S4E6 to S4E10 I've also been rewatching a lot of shows lately, mostly dubbed Squid Girl and Girls' Last Tour. I only list those occurrences in my media log, however, but at least it's public (and has always been).
  8. LOL. Real "checkmate, libtards" hours. More than anything, I just think it's time for the anime community to move on from this stuff. It's not like it's hung over fandom as a whole like a dark cloud, but there are certain people who really need to get it drilled into their head that this fanatical appreciation for Vic isn't healthy for themselves and anyone else. They've already discredited themselves so much with all the words they've typed.
  9. Really now. I saw it posted by WTK, which is a pretty reputable news account, so I assumed it was an accidental leak. But it's since been deleted, so it mustn't be.
  10. Mizutama Honey Boy 5/6 The iDOLM@STER Cinderella Girls U149 37-43
  11. Don't fear about that, because they typically release multi-cour shows in batches. But either way, I think Golden Wind is safely in Toonami's grasp.
  12. You got that right. I just want to live in a world where people boo this really popular isekai, which only turned out that way because of Crunchyroll's hyperbolic promotion of it, because it portrays slavery as a moral good. Okay, serious prediction time: Demon Slayer replaces The Promised Neverland, Tokyo Ghoul;re temporarily replaces SAO, and the block shrinks by a half-hour instead of replacing HxH. We also get a preview of The Forge and most people shrug their shoulders at it.
  13. They announce The Rising of the Shield Hero and people actively boo at it. ... I know that's not really a serious example, but I can't come up with anything. That must be what I get for not following anything on the block right now.
  14. The iDOLM@STER Cinderella Girls U149 26-36 [not a cloud in the sky]
  15. Not outright cancelled. We just watched it until time was up, as is usual. Seeing part of it is at least better than nothing at all, even it if takes out dramatic tension. iM@S CG Theater S4E5 The Girl Who Leapt Through Time The Helpful Fox Senko-san #1
  16. I didn't think it was an own, let alone a big one, but thanks for the kind words.
  17. iM@S CG Theater S4E4 Hunter x Hunter the Movie: Phantom Troupe (aborted, because we can only watch one movie past the end of the club's time per semester)
  18. Alternatively, they could strive to not be any bigger and greedier than they already are. Money drives too many issues in today's society, such as turning my pretty thread into Netflix general.
  19. Interesting theory. I don't think Toonami's going to do this due to the complexity and unnecessary obtuseness of it (Occam's razor, yes), but there wouldn't be a better place to air the OVAs for these shows. But I also wonder if the MP100 Twitter account jumped the gun on the Reigen OVA, and it wasn't the block's plan to air it. Maybe they're only considering it now because the account brought it to their attention.
  20. Some announcements: Attack on Titan Season 3 returns on May 25, just shy of the seventh anniversary of the block's revival. Presumably, this means we won't have a Memorial Day marathon this year, but you never know Lupin the Third Part V premieres on June 15, the anniversary of the last time my Boston Bruins won the Stanley Cup. Here's hoping we've hoisted it again by that date... although we'll have to get through that scrappy team from Columbus first. [nothing special, nothing personal]
  21. Coolio. I've been hankering for more Lupin as of late. Sadly, I never finished Part IV's airing on Toonami, but I've heard this series is even better than that one, so I have no reason to not at least sample it. It's also fitting that this announcement comes soon after Monkey Punch's passing. Maybe this airing will have a dedication to him? Heck, if nothing else, I think Toonami should make their own send-off promo for him like they did after C. Martin Croker died.
  22. iM@S CG Theater S4E3 Demon Slayer #1 Virtual-san Looking #6 ×
  23. LOL, why not. I've always found it weird that they don't break for Easter, as it's a holiday where people tend to travel. I've often just gone to my grandparents' house, but others go very far. Perhaps the constantly-fluctuating date has to do with it?
  24. Having tons of pins to accommodate show discussions is normal. It's a holdover from the Lithium days, where there was usually a general discussion in the main Toonami folder, but individual threads for each show in their own sections. It's a little clunky, but I don't see a problem with this. And going back to the old system of a singular thread for each week, with auxiliary folders or not, probably isn't worth it considering how few people post here nowadays.
