  1. And again, thats not how the majority of people view it.The majority of people remember Trump as being a brash asshole during his term and with a temperament that is unbecoming of the office. Not as being a dictator. Its only in liberal circles where thats what people think of Trump. The real problem for Biden is that we do have 4 years of both Presidents to compare, and hes going to lose that. People remember Trumps term with lower prices for everything, enforced immigration laws, lower inflation, and no wars in Ukraine or Gaza. Biden loses on all those. Immigration and the Economy are the top 2 issues, and Trump routinely polls better than Biden on both of them. "Trump is a dictator" is not what most people think of Trump. It will work for Liberal circles, but it isnt going to fundamentally shift the "guy who might drop dead vs brash asshole" calculus people are making right now.
  2. No, I saw that. The problem with that argument is that it doesn't really hold water outside of liberal circles. Liberals see Trump as some sort of clear and present danger, but thats the only group that does. Independents just view him as a brash asshole who doesn't have the temperament to be President. Liberals see Trump as some combination of Russian asset, fascist dictator, next coming of Hitler, end of Democracy. There are hysterics consistently posted in liberal blogs and news articles saying that hes the worst thing to happen to the world in the entire history of history. Its over the top and drives clicks for those who agree with that, but its not reflective of the majority of Americans. Outside of Liberal circles, the majority of people who do not support Trump see him as a brash asshole, doesnt have the temperament to be President, and is generally unfit to serve. That is a huge difference from the Liberal viewpoint of Trump. When you look at the election through the lens of "Man who might drop dead at any moment" vs "Brash asshole" it becomes a lot clearer why the election is the way that it is this year. Outside of the hardened partisans for both parties, the two candidates look pretty equally horrible.
  3. Problem is that right now the vast majority of Americans are saying neither is qualified to be President. It would be one thing if one candidate was clearly better than the other, but thats not the case. Biden looks like hes going to drop dead at any moment, and Trump is Trump.
  4. You have a whole lot more faith than I do at this point then. We had 4 years to do a million things that would have prevented a rematch, and none of it happened. So here we are, Giant Douche vs Turd Sandwich, but on steroids.
  5. That honestly sounds like a more productive use of time than spending it on anything Trump/Biden related. At least then you fully expect to be covered in shit rather than pretending you arent when supporting either of these two candidates.
  6. Haley is dropping out this morning. Two of the most god awful candidates are going to have a rematch where no matter who wins, we all lose. Its truly amazing just how horrible both Biden and Trump are, and yet we are stuck with them. Theres a real chance a 3rd party does damage this year. No one wants Biden or Trump. RFK may be crazy, but he may be a real threat to pick up a ton of votes this year simply as the "none of the above" candidate.
  7. Hamas official: 'We don't know which of the hostages are dead or alive' https://www.jpost.com/breaking-news/article-790201 "Hamas official Basem Naim said on Monday to AFP that the terror group did not know which of the hostages were dead or alive. Basem also added that the hostages were held by many terror groups in different locations in the Gaza Strip. According to Basem, a ceasefire is necessary for Hamas to ascertain how many and which hostages it is still holding. The same Hamas official, in an interview with the BBC, said that the hostages "are in different areas with different groups" and Hamas "have asked for a ceasefire to collect that data [on which hostages are alive and where.]" Continuing the BBC interview, Naim asserted that information relating to the hostages was "valuable" and could not be given "for free."" Oh they know which ones are alive and which are dead. They just refuse to say it because they realize that if they admit to the torture, rape, and murder of the hostages it will be bad PR for them. And on top of that, if they admit they are all, or even mostly, dead then the IDF will simply bomb the last remaining Hamas hideouts and kill the leadership.
  8. Thats kinda the entire point of SCOTUS. They arent elected officials, so they dont have to bend to the political whims of anyone. All this heat on SCOTUS is because Congress wont do its job and would rather try and use the courts to engage in law making. These big hairy problems are supposed to be tackled by Congress, but no one in Congress wants to do their job so instead they leave it up to the courts.
  9. Called it. Didn't get the technical aspect quite right, but the overall overturning of the case was easy to call and soundly within legal reasoning. The entire premise of the case was ludicrous on its face. It wasn't based in anything other than fantasy, and this outcome was entirely predictable. The fact that it was a 9-0 ruling shows just how dumb the entire thing has been. I would say its time to move on, but I know that Dems will just turn to other lawfare tactics to try and keep Trump off the ballot.
  10. .......Im going again tomorrow lol
  11. That was an absolutely amazing movie. Everything about it was so well done. Spectacular.
  12. Is it as bad as the memes are making it sound like? Its sounding like its a total train wreck.
  13. This is going to suck, isnt it?
  14. Helldivers Soooooo much helldivers. Have a group that Im playing with and its great.
  15. *yawn* whole lot of dumb shit going on while I was away today. Oh well, back to reality. Hamas leader Sinwar cites civilian casualties as tactical advantage for terror group, report says https://www.ynetnews.com/article/bja61pt3t "Mounting civilian casualties in the Gaza Strip will intensify global pressure on Israel to halt its military actions against Hamas, the terrorist group's leader in Gaza Yahya Sinwar told fellow Hamas officials handling cease-fire talks in Qatar, the Wall Street Journal reported on Thursday as growing humanitarian crisis and destruction in Gaza are testing Israel’s relations with the U.S. and other global partners." Hamas continues to signal that they want civilian causalities because they know it will only encourage the useful idiots in the West. Hamas purposefully increases civilian causalities knowing that it will get reactions in the West, reactions playing out in this very thread funny enough. Huh. So while Israel continues to work to minimize civilian casualities, Hamas worked to pump those numbers up. That makes this another good time to remind everyone that the numbers coming from the ministry of health in Gaza are not to be trusted because they are the propaganda number pushed out by Hamas.
  16. Hahahaha, oh now thats a good one. Im happy to be firmly planted on the right side of history.
  17. This is a bit surprising actually. Having 82% of Americans agree on anything is tough. Vast majorities support Israel, want Hamas removed from Gaza, and say Israel is avoiding civilian causalities. This comes even as useful idiots in the West scream that Israel is the bad guy. Very positive sign that Americans can still generally tell right from wrong.
  18. And boyyyyyyy is the Conservative wing of the GOP out in force right now.
  19. That would make a lot of sense. The border "deal" was a total surrender and anyone who read it realized just how bad of a bill it was.
  20. McConnell will step down as the Senate Republican leader in November after a record run in the job https://apnews.com/article/mitch-mcconnell-senate-republican-leader-stepping-down-ba478d570a4561aa7baf91a204d7e366 "WASHINGTON (AP) — Mitch McConnell, the longest-serving Senate leader in history who maintained his power in the face of dramatic convulsions in the Republican Party for almost two decades, will step down from that position in November. McConnell, who turned 82 last week, was set to announce his decision Wednesday in the well of the Senate, a place where he looked in awe from its back benches in 1985 when he arrived and where he grew increasingly comfortable in the front row seat afforded the party leaders. “One of life’s most underappreciated talents is to know when it’s time to move on to life’s next chapter,” he said in prepared remarks obtained by The Associated Press. “So I stand before you today ... to say that this will be my last term as Republican leader of the Senate.”" Well now, thats a pretty big development in the Senate. McConnell has been the GOP leader for ages. This is going to open up one hell of a power vacuum and the GOP infighting is going to be intense.
  21. Wendy’s says it has no plans to raise prices during the busiest times at its restaurants https://apnews.com/article/wendys-burger-pricing-ef75fa9214beddbd0d9d459f37722638 Alternative headline: Wendys absolutely planned to implement surge pricing until the backlash became impossible to ignore. The shitty thing about this is that it will absolutely follow the enshitification trends we have seen everywhere. One company floats the idea, sees huge backlash, backs off idea, then someone else tries again in the future in a slightly modified way. This continues until the original horrible idea is in place and something is fully enshitified.
