No, I didn’t intend to be condescending. If it came off that way, that wasn’t my intention. As I said above, I wasn’t intentionally being condescending, and was responding as a person giving advice to someone I consider another worthy human or friendly person.
I even apologized for making a couple of bad quips. I wasn’t expecting a hostile answer, but got one. Responding the way I responded after (“I sorry, massa”, etc.), isn’t playing Race Card more so than how it felt to get what I got from him. Felt like a slave being punished for speaking about cotton to his master. All he had to say was “Hey, I got this, I know how my finances work, because my accountant handles them. I’m good.” or the like, and it would’ve gone over better. Instead, well, we know what happened. Just basic human interaction. Unsolicited or not, a simple “No, thanks” or “I’m good” always works with me.
