As I said, they had no chance of killing Luke. There was a breakdown of just how OP Jedis are. Even at point blank, the force would do some freaky shit to protect him. Jedi are generally only bested by other Jedi...It's ridiculous to even consider they get get owned by a stormtrooper. I don't know about leia at all. Han and Chewy are battle worn...I'm sure they've been shot despite it not being a thing in the actual films. Han professing that he shoots first is a testament that he's been shot before and learned his lesson.

If we're talking Storm Troopers, they were never intended to kill Jedi....I mean they are a front line of defense but they haven't a prayer against OP space wizards that can drag an entire enemy armada from the sky with just a thought. Those things are for killing droids and regular soldiers and mercs and shit like that. Not Jedi other than on a fluke. So if you're waiting for a Storm Trooper to ice Luke, then that's gonna be a tall ass order. Kinda why in the midst of it all, only Jedi kill other Jedi for the larger part.
