  1. I agree on how it should be, but I wonder how old a show at 1:30 is allowed to be.
  2. No argument there. And even if they are overestimating their audience, keep in mind Rick and Morty have Toonami history due to their third season prank. Not to mention they made cameos in Space Jam 2 when barely anyone else from Cartoon Network did, if at all. Just my two cents.
  3. Imma be real with you, chief. Premiering right before Toonami would be the best timeslot the R&M anime could possibly receive. Any other timeslot would rely entirely on its existing fanbase, but putting the show at 11:30 means it can be sandwiched between an episode of the original Sanchez antics and whatever Toonami wants to give star billing. And if it doesn't do well in the ratings, it's not like there's anything else on at that time of night.
  4. I do too, but I know that safety is the best possible scenario for any WB division nowadays. We all know the reasons why, so let's not beat a dead stampede.
  5. I would agree with the shows on this prediction. The AOT finale on Memorial day, the 3:00 AM slot being kept until November, and the Rick and Morty anime airing on Toonami. Seems reasonable to me. Now watch it be nothing like this.
  6. I understand that you're upset about this, but that doesn't mean you have to swear that much to show your disdain. Although I wouldn't be opposed to a Superman marathon, come to think of it. My guy, I WISH we would get schedules this expansive. But this is modern-day Warner Bros. we're talking about, a company that has been reduced to Z*****'s newest whipping mule.
  7. I really doubt that. Not only would it be a dumb idea to do another two weeks of Ninja Kamui marathons, but a sub-only Toonami run would tank in the ratings. At least that April Fools prank from a few years back was a one-time thing with multiple shows.
  8. Maybe this is just a dry spell, and the hype clock resets in June. Then again, by that logic, September would look worse without Shippuden reruns holding up the rear.
  9. Are you kidding me? Two straight weeks of Ninja Kamui marathons? In the middle of May? I should've known that the Spring season would end on a wet fart, but this is ridiculous.
  10. To think we may very well have Superman the week after Star Wars Day. And paired up with the Eastern equivalent to Superboy. Or Robin, depending on how you view Izuku. And if it does become a legit Toonami premiere, that's all the better. Pretty sure Zom 100 will get pushed back to 1 AM in this event, which might sting a little. But that's business.
  11. I'm sorry to say this, but if his profile picture reflects how he really looks, then I guess he was just at the right place at the right time in 1997. I don't know how he can be this renowned otherwise with that kind of attitude.
  12. Looks like I was right. One of the Shonen staples was doubled, and people are upset about it. However, since it's One Piece that is doubled, I could see why the complaints are being made. Not only are we given five shows for seven timeslots, but unless proven otherwise, this cuts into OP's 50-episode maximum renewal. Meaning we might be getting a few more marathons this year. But hey, maybe something good can happen next month. I doubt it would, but it's possible.
  13. Should I be surprised that the same studio behind Harvey Birdman and Primal would want to mix crass behavior with blood? Better question: Should I fear what the next show like this would do?
  14. Well, the next schedule update seems to be late, which means a few outcomes: One of the Shonen holdovers is getting doubled up. Most likely DBZ Kai if true. IGPX finally airs its last remastered episodes. Whatever they were gearing up to replace Lycoris has hit a snag in the negotiations. Someone on Toonami got high two weeks early. Either way, someone will find a reason to complain about it.
  15. Titles like these make me wish MAD Magazine was more relevant today, because "Ninja Kamooey" sounds exactly like something they'd write.
  16. If it's not here in 2024, I'm just going to assume it was Z*****ed.
  17. If we don't hear about the replacement by Monday, I'm afraid we'll have to double DBZ Kai or get the last episodes of IGPX remastered. But what I'm wondering is whether or not we'd get something at 3 AM again. Granted, we'll likely not be that lucky, but we just spent three months with a half-hour expansion PLUS a DBZ Kai marathon that ended at 6 AM. I'd imagine someone up on the exec board at Toonami would find some filler for that odd timeslot.
  18. Aside from the obvious Crunchyroll and Hulu, which would obviously be the two services for anime fans to flock to, we also have HiDive for Made in Abyss and Lupin III, Retro Crush for the 80s junkies, or even Tubi if you're brave enough. But nowadays? We live in another era of uncertainty for Toonami, where the back half will lose Naruto within months, Attack on Titan has ended with MHA following sooner or later, and Williams Street originals are actually doing well. So anything goes, I guess.
  19. I knew to expect prehistory in this episode from the title alone. Said episode being a homage to one of the best American cartoons in recent years? That was unexpected.
  20. Call me crazy, but I thought a couple of the pilots had some potential, like Savonne Cherry's Off the Menu. But in the grand scheme of things, this is just yet another story of whoever's in charge of WB only thinking of short term profit margins. Selling off the old library for pennies on the dollar, merging with Seven Arts, AOL, AT&T, and Discovery, and all these write-offs and pre-notioned cancellations. IT'S GETTING OLD! OLD!
  21. This is woefully inaccurate! Luffy doesn't even wear socks! 0/10 But seriously, this looks cool.
  22. If it's anything, I have three options to go off of: Realistic Prediction: Scavengers Reign, due to DeMarco saying its cable premiere will be on Toonami, and it's likely a lesser priority than Superman. Unrealistic Prediction / Realistic Hope: Lupin Zero, since it only has six episodes to its name. If it's this one, it could take the 1 AM slot all the way to June. Unrealistic Hope: Urusei Yatsura (2022). I sincerely doubt this will happen, but between Sentai's previous Toonami history, Lycoris being picked up, and Inuyasha's sequel series being marketed well on Toonami, a user can dream. But really, I'm just throwing stuff at a brick wall.
  23. If this counts as a double post, I'm sorry. But with the season finale of Demon Slayer coming tonight, should we predict what will replace Lycoris Recoil?
  24. This pitch has been approved by Peter Potamus. But seriously, I'd laugh if I saw something like this.
  25. Sure, I would appreciate some non-anime examples. You'd think a pair of DC Comics cartoons would be a breeze to pick up. If either Spidey cartoon were on CN, it could have been given better marketing than the 2000s Fantastic Four cartoon. I've heard of the Centipede cartoon in passing, but if the TMNT pitch was picked up, I think it would have made for better bedfellows with Justice League and Samurai Jack than with Pokemon and Yu-Gi-Oh. More good points! I'd argue that Fox Kids got scared of the new guy on the tube, which explains why they snatched up Beast Wars and Beast Machines. Then again, they would up as casualties in the Pokemon vs. Digimon war of the early aughts alongside Monster Rancher and Escaflowne, and the latter was already mentioned here. Centurions, SWAT Kats, Dark Water, and Silverhawks, on the other hand? I'd argue those four shows could have given Cartoon Roulette a nice sendoff before the rights to Sailor Moon were up. While we're at it, I'm dumbfounded as to why the Rising Sun block was revived at 2 AM in 2002. I get why, since airing Yogi Bear after Tenchi Muyo would have been whiplash for the three people up at that hour. But if I had my way, Hamtaro would have been a Rising Sun exclusive and still counted as a Toonami program by proxy.
