Call me crazy, but I thought a couple of the pilots had some potential, like Savonne Cherry's Off the Menu. But in the grand scheme of things, this is just yet another story of whoever's in charge of WB only thinking of short term profit margins. Selling off the old library for pennies on the dollar, merging with Seven Arts, AOL, AT&T, and Discovery, and all these write-offs and pre-notioned cancellations. IT'S GETTING OLD! OLD!

Boston Red Sox celebrating One Piece in August
Mr. Idea Box replied to viperxmns's topic in Toonami & [adult swim]
This is woefully inaccurate! Luffy doesn't even wear socks! 0/10 But seriously, this looks cool. -
If it's anything, I have three options to go off of: Realistic Prediction: Scavengers Reign, due to DeMarco saying its cable premiere will be on Toonami, and it's likely a lesser priority than Superman. Unrealistic Prediction / Realistic Hope: Lupin Zero, since it only has six episodes to its name. If it's this one, it could take the 1 AM slot all the way to June. Unrealistic Hope: Urusei Yatsura (2022). I sincerely doubt this will happen, but between Sentai's previous Toonami history, Lycoris being picked up, and Inuyasha's sequel series being marketed well on Toonami, a user can dream. But really, I'm just throwing stuff at a brick wall.

Missed Opportunities of Toonami History
Mr. Idea Box replied to Mr. Idea Box's topic in Toonami & [adult swim]
Sure, I would appreciate some non-anime examples. You'd think a pair of DC Comics cartoons would be a breeze to pick up. If either Spidey cartoon were on CN, it could have been given better marketing than the 2000s Fantastic Four cartoon. I've heard of the Centipede cartoon in passing, but if the TMNT pitch was picked up, I think it would have made for better bedfellows with Justice League and Samurai Jack than with Pokemon and Yu-Gi-Oh. More good points! I'd argue that Fox Kids got scared of the new guy on the tube, which explains why they snatched up Beast Wars and Beast Machines. Then again, they would up as casualties in the Pokemon vs. Digimon war of the early aughts alongside Monster Rancher and Escaflowne, and the latter was already mentioned here. Centurions, SWAT Kats, Dark Water, and Silverhawks, on the other hand? I'd argue those four shows could have given Cartoon Roulette a nice sendoff before the rights to Sailor Moon were up. While we're at it, I'm dumbfounded as to why the Rising Sun block was revived at 2 AM in 2002. I get why, since airing Yogi Bear after Tenchi Muyo would have been whiplash for the three people up at that hour. But if I had my way, Hamtaro would have been a Rising Sun exclusive and still counted as a Toonami program by proxy. -
Due to the lack of action, no pun intended, I thought I'd make a new thread: Has there ever been a thing you wanted to see happen on Toonami, but it never came to be? Before anyone mentions them, I know about the whole "Sony Jail" and "Netflix Jail" claims. To prevent those from being spammed in this thread, I'm hoping to hear from older Toonami viewers who grew up watching it on Cartoon Network.

We may have a new low bar for Adult Swim pranks if this is it. Disappointing people is one thing. Fearing for the security of Williams Street jobs is another.

Adult Swim drops new preview clip for Rick and Morty the anime
Mr. Idea Box replied to Jman's topic in Toonami & [adult swim]
Okay, I think I'm starting to like this. Bring it on. -
Even through all the complaining, I'll repeat what I said in the Spring Predictions thread: A DBZ Kai marathon, the 45-minute finale to Demon Slayer, and the premiere of Zom 100. All within weeks of each other. We are eating good this month!

I don't know how or why about it, but I have my suspicions that this is bad timing here. DBZ Kai coming back to Toonami right as its creator dies? Not a good omen to me.

If we have 3 or 4 slots to fill, here's what I think could happen. Scavengers Reign fills one of the slots. It's been four months since the season finale on Max. IGPX gets its remastered second season to air....after DBZ Kai. To them, it's older and less of a priority than that show is, so it would likely fill that 3 AM slot for a couple more months. Rick and Morty: The Anime temporarily gives Toonami a lineup bookended by subs. Do I expect these to happen? No, but MHA and Superman likely aren't coming until May, meaning there's still a small gap to fill anyway. I know it could be anything from their catalogs, but I'm hoping against hope that Urusei Yatsura remake comes to Toonami. Adding Lycoris Recoil just adds fuel to that fire.

I have a few ideas for this year, some of them more likely than others: Sneak peeks of the 2024 premieres. Toonami airs a marathon. My personal choice? Attack on Titan Junior High. Checkered Past gets taken over by Screwy Squirrel. The nightly lineup of TLC replaces Adult Swim's regular programming. All of it.

WarnerMedia gearing up for another potential sale around April
Mr. Idea Box replied to Jman's topic in Toonami & [adult swim]
No, we'll get the guy from Yellowstone using Woody Woodpecker as a lawn dart. -
Space Ghost and Brak on Jellystone
Mr. Idea Box replied to viperxmns's topic in Toonami & [adult swim]
I'd argue the Space Ghost fans are having their cake and eating it too. He can be both a serious superhero AND a silly talk show host. But the only way I'll be watching the new season is by pirating it. No way I'm giving Z***** any money.- 18 replies

I don't care who or what buys them. They'll just be the next scapegoat for whatever crap WB gets saddled with this year. -
Now that the Hulu/Disney+ merger is closer to happening, I just thought I'd ask a specific question: Has any anime on Hulu jumped over to Disney+? If so, how much of the catalog has done so?
