  1. I would have expected Scavengers Reign, but this is better. How many episodes does it have in its season?
  2. Whether you love or hate Cow and Chicken, I would have preferred to see it alongside three other shows, rather than all at once. Powerpuff Girls, Johnny Bravo, Kids Next Door, Foster's Home, Samurai Jack, Camp Lazlo, even Captain Planet. And those are just the heavy hitters. Heck, why aren't I Am Weasel and Evil Con Carne also permanently added to Fridays? If I'm being pedantic about this, anyway.
  3. I mean, Netflix does have the One Piece live-action remake and a reboot of the anime in the works. I guess they might as well go for the hat trick on the Straw Hats. But from a Toonami-only perspective, I have two hypotheses on what this means: The Wano arc would be the final arc to air on linear television. By the time the English dub gets to the Egghead arc, Netflix jail would finally let it air elsewhere. Granted, we won't know about that until 2033, but still.
  4. This is why I hope they cut a deal with Sentai Filmworks for Lupin Zero and the Urusei Yatsura reboot. Because they're different from shonen and (probably) cheaper to license.
  5. If that's your worst case scenario, I'm curious what your pie-in-the-sky scenario looks like.
  6. The first half sounds plausible to me, but giving them 3 AM back, not to mention airing Jujitsu Kaisen, Eizouken, Gundam: The Witch from Mercury, and Spy X Family? If your forecast happens to be an accurate prediction of the coming year, check me into the asylum.
  7. Hey, I'll take any notice from Toonami itself on the finale. Doesn't have to be a complete marathon to do so, to be honest.
  8. Am I the only one hoping for a Naruto Shippuden farewell marathon next year? Because I would think it deserves the Futurama treatment by now. And if it helps, it would mean a week without a One Piece premiere, unless they make a new deal in advance. Which I'm not expecting either, but I'm already on copium when thinking of Toonami's future.
  9. Oh, now that's just pathetic to see. But now I'm curious. What if the WB-Universal merger is a thing? Does Toonami have a chance?
  10. So, after all the news that's happened this month, primarily the new seasons for MHA, Dr. Stone, and Demon Slayer, what do you guys think the plan is for next year?
  11. Question for current Disney+ users: Does the Hulu merger mean Inuyasha and Ranma 1/2 are associated with Disney now?

  12. Status update: The outside of a ketchup packet tastes as bad as it sounds. Don't eat plastic, kids. Aside from that, if I had known that Dr. Stone would be a double premiere on the 16th, I would have extended that show's marathon on the 23rd. But that's not what I expect. What I DO expect is for Flicker of Doom to only get that singular airing and just pray enough people realized we get two episodes that night.
  13. I don't know about you, but I think it's kinda poetic how November started with double Demon Slayer, we now have double Dr. Stone and marathons of both ending 2023, and we're kicking off 2024 with the finale of Attack on Titan. But that's a different topic.
  14. I figured it was going to either be 12:30 or 1:00 that gets the Lycoris Recoil slot. Although, looking closer into this block, I think pairing it with both Dr. Stone and One Piece does show some faith in the pickup. At least it could get a couple of viewers compared to IGPX.
  15. So, with the recent news on January 6th, I've cracked the code for the next year. January 2024: Attack on Titan finally ends, Demon Slayer: Entertainment District Arc and Lycoris Recoil premiere. March/April 2024: Scavengers Reign makes its Toonami debut. May 2024: IGPX ends its remastered run. June 2024: My Adventures with Superman airs its second season. July/August 2024: Naruto Shippuden finally ends. October 2024: Uzumaki finally premieres. Fall 2024: One Piece becomes the new show to close the night off. 2025: Who knows? I also think Ninja Kamui, Rick and Morty: The Anime, Lupin Zero, and the Urusei Yatsura reboot could make it on the block next year. Clearly a mixed bag around here, but that's subject to change. Any thoughts on this matter?
  16. I felt like there wasn't much action around here, so I might as well do this. Feel free to share any fantasy schedules you may have at any point in Toonami history. For example: June 1997: 4:00 PM: ThunderCats 4:30 PM: Super Friends 5:00 PM: Cartoon Roulette 5:15 PM: Voltron 5:45 PM: Cartoon Roulette 6:00 PM: Sailor Moon 6:30 PM: The Real Adventures of Jonny Quest September 2005: 7:00 PM: Duel Masters 7:30 PM: Transformers: Cybertron 8:00 PM: Justice League Unlimited 8:30 PM: Teen Titans 9:00 PM: Zatch Bell! 9:30 PM: Naruto 10:00 PM: One Piece 10:30 PM: Bobobo-bo Bo-bobo April 1st, 2023: 12 - 3 AM: Attack on Titan: Junior High Marathon
  17. Compared to some of the other Thanksgiving balloons, he oughta change his name to Monkey D. Lucky.
  18. As we're heading into another year of Toonami, I want to ask a question for the usual suspects. What introduced you to Toonami? Be it TOM 1, the AS revival, Moltar, or even something different. For me, I'll admit I was too young for the block. I was a 2000's baby, in fact. But that doesn't stop me from loving it like the rest of you.
  19. I don't expect more immediately, but I made this post as a thinking corner to see what people on this site want to be turned into a parade balloon. For example, I think a Chopper balloon would be made funnier if it was the last balloon of the parade, being based on a talking reindeer and all.
  20. As we bask into the afterglow of Luffy's parade debut, I thought I'd ask you guys what comes next. Would another Dragon Ball character join Goku? What about a second One Piece balloon to promote Netflix's next season? Could Naruto or Deku be next, and become the Mount Rushmore of anime heroes? There's a lot of options, but it would be funny if Chopper's debut happened before Santa's arrival. Just looking at him explains why.
  21. They're absolutely right that Luffy would love Thanksgiving. Which is why I can't say the same for his shipmates...
  22. As I said some place else, January is going to be STACKED!
  23. Holy shit. I wouldn't have expected THIS to happen! An Aniplex dub that's not a shonen? Beautiful news. Fingers crossed for the UY remake in the Fall, because this makes me think it can happen.
