  1. There's a ton of people I enjoy talking to here, whether it's via social media, through general pleasant conversation, the thread banter, etc etc. I'm honestly scared of making a list only to discover I've left somebody out. That being said, it'd be super cool if people could simply sense and understand that I appreciate them, that would be great. Thanks.
  2. Yes still will happen
  3. My advice: refer to strangers by names that are probably not theirs. That way it seems you know them well as Susan when in fact you are meeting Morgan for the first time.
  4. Shiro and Mephisto were more my type.
  5. To me, these are so iconic, that I didn't recognize the name and still knew what you were referring to.
  6. She's probably both of these things, but thank God she'll make him look good while doing it.
  7. I love how you didn't even complete the user name and thus I can't be sure to whom you're referring. But I imagine it's who I think it is, and we both know he's good enough at naysaying to be a professional and paid enough for it to get his own Blue Exorcist wall scroll.
  8. Having met her, I can vouch for it.
  9. Goddamnit I gifted him that Blue Exorcist wall scroll; is this not enough?
  10. Sometimes take solace in the fact that your mind doesn't work in correlation with reality but also be warned.
  11. I take a ridiculous amount of liberty with what some might consider acceptably "accurate" but that's what makes the story (and writing) so fun.
  12. Luckily there are webzines/literary mags that specifically publish horror! Let me know if you're ever interested in trying to publish work, or want me to provide any comments on a piece or two. I do have more work published elsewhere. One of my favorites is "The Incubus," which is a fairly short second-person story about a sex demon who inhabits the body of a gay man who received a stick-and-poke tattoo of a demonic sigil from his crush: http://reservoirlit.com/leonard1 Additional comment -- Only now did I realize I've returned to the theme of tattoos and love with "Aftercare". Different voices and vastly different styles, but as any other writer will tell you: most writers only write about a handful of things over and over.
  13. Thank you! I'm sorry it wasn't more accessible. I tried to generalize some of the specifics (aquaphor/moisturizer) but the form doesn't lend itself to explicit explanation of things like jargon, but I'm still working on how to approach writing in this very, very short form. (Flash fiction is typically a story that's no longer than 1000 words) The website, Five on The Fifth, is a literary webzine that publishes only five short stories on the fifth of each month. Hundreds of people submit, and the editors have to narrow it down from there.

  15. People aren't perfect, and character flaws are important.
  16. He was just too damned quick.
  17. They dead yuh.
  18. Thank you! <3
  19. The whole "I hope they have your blue eyes/red hair" thing is pretty common. I've heard vaguely similar things to "I hope they don't have their dad's eyes" thing, mostly because the father is a dismal excuse for a human. But despite it, I know the parent loves their child immensely (and I do too; they're wonderful and smart).
  20. I'd be delighted if you gave it a read: http://www.fiveonthefifth.com/vol-2-issue-11-story-2 <3 <3 <3
  21. No, we're all out here, sword-fighting with thick, felled branches and tossing rocks we swear are dirt clods.
