What Are You Thinking About Right Now?
Insipid replied to DragonSinger's topic in General Discussion
I was about to tell you to fuck on the first date with your other post. Good job, bitch. -
What did you have for dinner? NOT a discussion thread.
Insipid replied to The_annoying_one's topic in General Discussion
tortilla and queso blanco, chicken noodle soup, and new england clam chowder. I didn't feel like cooking or buying food, I skipped lunch, and I had a bunch of condensed cans of soups. -

Too many people only start to appreciate you when it's too late. C'est la vie. -

No idea, although I don't think he's the type to do something like that. I'd rather not learn.

In 1984, my Japanese uncle was studying the cilinary arts in France. (Jesus Christ, does that sound pretentious as fuck.)

I actually have decided that I am gonna run at least one full marathon in my life. I know I have it within me now. -
What Are You Thinking About Right Now?

I ended up going to the park when it warmed up. Today was also the 3-year anniversary of euthanizing my shiba inu. In his memory, I walked more than I ever have in my life today. -

Almost done with the 36 hour fast. My breath currently smells like complete shit from the ketosis. -

Almost 24 hours into a 36 hour fast. Normally, there's more grouchiness, but this time I am getting moments of seeming mental clarity. I actually feel pretty good right now. In this modern life of over-indulgence, asceticism can really help . . . and I'm not even a religious person. -
What song is stuck in your head right now?
Insipid replied to The_annoying_one's topic in General Discussion
I'm fucking obsessed with this song. It's like a throwback to the late 90s/early 2000s. -
Stores are now getting rid of self checkout lanes . . . and I bet most will understaff the registers, causing people to wait a long time. Yep, enshittification of every single aspect of life. Might as well go back to the very very old days where you just place an order and pick it up. Modern shopping is based a lot on impulse purchasing. Perhaps that will now change if people can't browse stores anymore.

Strangely enough, this discussion over terminology is still relevant to Poor Things.

Some very mediocre Pad Thai. -
Elephant in the room. I wanted to say it long ago. I think if a few certain posters were still active, something would have been said already.

I think this thread proves the disconnect between Wall Street and the average American. Nobody but the one percent is marveling at "wow, our shit is actually managing to stick to the wall." The rest of us feel dread. I'd also like to add that even though workers in Europe are better compensated than Americans, they aren't all paid a living wage and are also suffering from the effects of massive inflation. It's a global issue, and fortunately this is an argument that can be used against people blaming "Bidenomics."
