incidentally I've kinda come to the realization that Vegeta's characterization in super is kind of identical to Roronoa Zoro's in One Piece
with the Exception that Zoro's battles and victories feel more like actual accomplishments and less like filler or Jokes
basically Eichiro Oda just does a comedy based action story far better than Toriyama does
Vegeta's "victories" in super so far have kind of felt half assed and minimal, (though Sandstone[/member] assures me his battles and victories get better) whereas Zoro's victories feel legitimate, Hell, even the fights Zoro LOSES in One Piece are still technically victories (like how he lives through an attack that should have basically Vaporized him just through sheer force of will at the end of Thriller Bark)
it's also worth noting that Luffy is a genuinely good (if not a touch "Chaotic good Blood-knight in terms of morality)person who's actions are purely meant for the betterment and freedom of oppressed people, and he may or may not only be feigning ignorance to keep his adversaries lulled into a false sense of security
whereas Goku is fucking literally Peter Griffin in Super and has no redeeming qualities, super Goku is just genuinely a stupid and violent person who's actions are purely self serving
so vegeta's victories might feel less genuine because the man he's allied with is basically a villain with good publicity,
whereas Zoro's captain is actually genuinely noble
