lol, we made a shitload of beer in the spring of '16 because it was still pretty new to us at the time and we had more time to devote to it. along with the oatmeal stout, we discovered some black ipa, nut brown ale, and bourbon barrel porter. the ipa was not good anymore (no surprise) but everything else was still decent.
-
we just found a 6-pack of a homebrew oatmeal stout that we made 2.5 years ago. it got buried under some other stuff and we forgot all about it til sunday. it was deeelicious.

you can get into homebrewing for as little as $100 for the basic equipment, and 5-gallon ingredient kits start at around $25-30. but it gets expensive fast, as you upgrade components and start making more complex styles. there's a great book out there to intro yourself to homebrewing, called "how to brew" by john palmer. dude is like, one of the pioneers of modern homebrewing and he does a great job of explaining the science and process.

it's actually going to be an independent outdoor craft bar / music venue that will operate separate from our current bar, but we're calling it our "beer garden" in conversation until we officially launch it in the spring. i'm working on a deal to purchase a couple neighboring properties so we have somewhere to brew our own beer, and the beer garden would then be incorporated into that space. we're looking at probably 5 years for a timeline on that, but the beer garden will open next spring to start generating some additional revenue in the meantime.
-
bank gets me til 4. then, assuming the rain is done for the day, doing some more concrete work on the lot where the beer garden is going. and hopefully getting the contractor in to discuss building the stage enclosure. and then probably beer. well, definitely beer.

You might still have time to beat it if you go now.

We're still just on the dry side, but that's not gonna last for much longer. Looks like the front is starting to shift south. Gonna be a long night...
-
the southern point of the storm front passed by us about 3 miles north of my house. we sat on the lawn and watched the lightning. looked kinda nasty. sounds like iowa state got wet today.

without actually knowing why doubleclick is showing up on your tracker thingy, i can venture a guess. there's probably code built into the ipb package as purchased from invision, that included doubleclick as an option. the site software absolutely supports the ability to include ads. but it has to be enabled and deployed if it's actually going to start generating revenue. you can believe kn or you can be super-irrational about it, but to think the site is making bucks off anyone's activity is quite silly.

now we're getting somewhere... go on. talk dirty to us.
-
psst. disco's a cool kid. you're fucked.
-
and i would have said you're welcome to swing by and do that because i'm not wasting that kind of time. but you thought better of laying that one down, so thank goodness we don't have to hash all that out.
-
that's also a thing that happens when you get older.
-
ffs. someone scoops them out every day, and they both get changed at least every week. i'm disappointed i have to explain it to you that i was joking.
