The XXIII Olympic Winter Games have started! From Feb 9-25, in PyeongChang, S. Korea, the world's best athletes will compete in fifteen fields for a total of 102 Olympic Gold medals. There are 92 countries participating this year, including the Olympic Athletes from Russia (as Russia was barred from participation but the athletes are still allowed to compete), as well as athletes from N. Korea marching along with the South under the Korean Unification Flag. Warm hugs all around. Here is the schedule of events for the entire games. Aaaaand discuss!

dumbasses overcarbonated the batch, lol. worst beer i've ever had was one of my first homebrews. i think it was contaminated, could hardly stand to even smell it. worst purchased beer i've ever had was probably monty python's holy grail ale in a pint can. i was really hoping it would be ok because of the branding. it was not.
-
no, but i've heard tell.
-
two, even. one for each hand, just for good measure. and probably an emergency poncho and face mask.

i dunno man. too many women, all drunk at the same time, sounds more like a firing squad than an orgy. you can find out for yourself if you want; they are getting together again next thursday.
-
i avoid it. too much red wine and estrogen concentrated in one place for my liking.
-
wife is doing that. it's a "crock pot club" of about a dozen ladies, and they make like ten complete meals for every person to take home, all in a couple hours time. i dig. i'm excited to be hitting up the opening-soon brewery over in springfield on monday. getting a tour of the brewery and negotiating distribution to my bar (if the beers are any good). pumped.

i was hoping for cake, but C.A.C. is good too

i've been meaning to ask you. how do you pronounce your s/n? is it like "c-ah-c" or "c-ay-c"? because either is splendid.

there's better substances available, if face numbness is the goal. like this:

I am cleaning push-button light switches from the 1930's.

that sucks. someone else apparently saw the $$ on those too. i sometimes hop on feebay and look to see if someone's selling some of that old stuff. i'm trying to slowly bring the whole house back to "original" where i can. the old brass wall plates are getting harder to find all the time, and they ain't cheap. -

i don't think the switches themselves are worth much, mostly because they're still kinda common and they don't meet code. you can also get new versions of the push switches that are code and look a lot like the old ones (pearloid buttons and all). but if the switches and wiring are that old, chances are some of the fixtures are old as well, and that's where the money is. we have push-button switches all through our upstairs (house was built in 1917), and a lot of original brass fixtures with crystal shades. there's one waterfall fixture in particular that we could probably sell for upwards of $500 if we wanted to, but the wall sconces and pendant lamps are all in the $100-200 range. original door hardware is something to watch for as well. -
i'm through the first 4 or 5 episodes. it hasn't grabbed me yet, but the premise so far is kinda interesting. and the scenery is very pretty.

this sentence is better now.

I powered through it. Naproxen sodium, two red bulls for the caffeine, and a couple imperial stout seems to have warded off the headache. Still a little jittery though. But that might be the booze.
-
it's been years since i've had one of these fuckers. starts with a headache, then i get all jittery and my hearing starts to get muffled. next, the vision starts to tunnel up. eventually, nausea causes a vomiting fit. then i drag my battered ass to bed and hibernate until it passes. i'm at the jittery phase right now. this is not how i wanted to spend my day.

It's tin. It runs about 2/3 of the way back, and the rest from there to the back is wood planks. The wood is where there used to be a giant cooler, back when the place was a butcher shop in the 1940's.

I'm old. I don't know when these things are live. But apparently the bartender does this every Sunday night.

This poor old fella has no idea he's on Reddit now. I'll have to show him tomorrow.
-
He did, a few times. Still trying to figure out a good angle to parlay it into asses in seats.

Illinois. But you're welcome anytime.

bartender posted a pic to r/pubattlegrounds of one of the regulars watching a live pubg stream the bartender was casting up to the tv. how that was worthy of 27k upvotes, i have no idea. but that's reddit for you.
