Honestly I think the majority of folks that get iPhones are either people in their late 40's or older, that aren't that good with technology and an iPhone was their first smartphone, so trying to switch to and learn to use an android is too different for them. That's how it was for my step-dad and a few other older folks I know. I do think iPhones are something people that have money to throw around get, but even with my aunt and uncle who together probably make over a hundred grand a year have never owned or bought iPhones for them or their kids, them always using android. My 73yo grandma that lives with them is a bit tech savvy, able to handle phones and such better than people think elderly folks can, and she's always used android. A friend of mine that I work with is a year ahead of me in seniority so he makes close to $1300 every time we get paid, and yet money burns a hole right through his pocket, he was still paying off the first iPhone that cost a grand, and just recently he decided to switch to the iPhone 11, so now he has another grand he needs to pay off. For a guy that still lives with his parents (though pays a couple hundred a month in rent) and doesn't own a car, somehow he manages to have less than $40 in the bank by the next time we get paid.

I remember playing pkmn Diamond a few years after it came out, didn't really like it in comparison to previous gens. Though if I was gonna play that gen I should have gone for Platinum I guess, since it's the improved version of the games. I remember playing BW1 on an emulator and I didn't care too much for it, never played BW2. One of my closest friends is a major Nintendo and pkmn fan but he gave up on them after BW2. To him after BW2 the following games were dumbed down way too much, and felt like weak attempts at pkmn games, them knowing they're just gonna sell millions regardless of how much effort they put in.

Following up on that post, I despise Apple, never used or owned any of their products. That said though I am curious to see just how well ARM based processors can compete against typical x86 ones from AMD and Intel. Realistically I see Intel and AMD ones still being superior, but for the tasks Macs are considered better for I think Apple will be able to make the ARM based ones work for them where they'll be so very optimized for those workloads where it won't matter... that said though if someone tried doing tasks one would do on a Pc like gaming, I see the ARM one definitely not holding up so well, despite Apple wanting to make future macs more capable of running games, wanting developers to make games for their platform as well.

The best argument for a mac is pretty much music production. When I was younger I worked at a Walmart with this one black guy that did music, him telling me about how "it's so easy to drop a beat on a mac". I've seen a fair amount of folks on the internet that mainly do music production, them using macs. Also the band director for the high school here has a pretty pricy Mac instead of the shitty desktops all other teachers use (our band kids compete on a national level). When it comes to video editing though, Macs are good for their simplicity, but I've heard many folks say when you're talking about more complicated tasks, PC is much better and has more features. As a tech enthusiast I really hate how Apple (aside from Sony and MS with the consoles for obvious reasons) has the most locked down platform, both hardware and software-wise. Especially with the hardware side of things, them very much so against the right to repair. Also the lengths they'll go to to make their hardware as non-serviceable as possible, them typically soldering down the ram and cpu. As with how cpus in future Macs will be ARM based, manufactured by them and no longer from Intel, that will definitely lock down their platform even more. The way I was telling a buddy of mine earlier today, lets say you were out of warranty but your ram or cpu went bad, you could just buy your own and plop them in there, but you sure as shit can't do that when they switch to ARM cpus, since they'll be the only ones making them. Which means you'd either have to pay for an out of warranty repair, or be SoL and told you need to buy a new one.

Hard to give a definitive favorite pkmn answer. Gen 1. I'd say Eevee cause it's adorable, as well as I like all of its evolutions. Gen 2. Chikorita, pretty much because of Ash's in the show. Gen 3. Probably Blaziken because of its design and so on. Second favorite probably Gardevoir because of the internet. After those ones my interest in pkmn has dwindled, I've played much of the games that came after (courtesy of emulators) but I couldn't get behind them, or the show the same way.

I hate Macs and would happily see them all wiped from existence, but the tech enthusiast in my doesn't like seeing perfectly good hardware getting destroyed (referring to vid above of Mac getting shot). I fucking loathe apple, and how they have some of the most braindead fanboys on the planet. They're probably the most anti-consumer company on the planet, going to any length to ensure that they don't have to do shit for you, and will find any and all reasons to not honor things like warranties, and for some reason people still go and buy another Mac/iphone/whatever even after getting fucked in the ass with no lube by them. I also detest how they've gone to great lengths to lock down their platform, both hardware and software-wise as much as possible. I remember some years back with Louis Rossmann on youtube, him being the guy that repairs Apple shit on youtube, him having a business dedicated to that. He's shown in quite a few of his videos that when it comes to the macbooks, those laptop versions of Macs, the way Apple wires them up on the inside, the mousepad, keyboard, webcam, and like 1 or 2 other things are all wired up together in a way where all it takes is one of those things going back and you have a mac that won't turn on or access your computer.

Quite literally was about to say this. Also some browsers, such as Firefox, lets you set whether you want links to open in same tab, new tab, or new window. -
Times Toonami had to air stuff no one really wanted
Distinct Lunatic replied to Jman's topic in Toonami & [adult swim]
Kekkaishi I remember being added back in 2011, it still being ASA back then. Not gonna lie, parts of it felt like a Bleach clone, such as the older brother being a captain of the gotei 13whatever the hell that group is called. There were a few other things that stood out to me, like that one woman that worked for the big baddies that looked very much so like Rukia. I still liked the series, and I intended to read the manga at one point but never gotten around to it. Back with "Toonami" on AS, it quite literally was just ASA but with Tom. Back then for reasons unknown they chose to start the block off with DW and Casshern Sins... DW was decent enough, read the whole manga many years ago but it didn't feel like the type of show you'd want to use to launch the block, and especially not Casshern Sins. I watched it all the way through back then, and I'd say a solid 70-80% of everything in it was a literal waste of time and was insanely boring to watch. The only thing worse then that was the Tenchi Muyo series. I don't think the Akame ga Kill anime existed back at that time, but even with how much I fucking hate that series it'd have suited the block better than those 2 shows. -
For the last couple months been playing osrs almost religiously, but the burn out has finally set in, allowing me to move on to other things. Problem though is I played osrs so long where it's very hard to decide on what to play next. Messed around a bit with Saints Row 3, before deciding to have another round with the Mass Effect series. I typically skip the first one whenever I play through them to save me 20-25 hours, and since gameplay mechanics wise I think it aged horribly. Whenever I skip ME1 I usually just download a save online and then use a save game editor to make all the choices I would have made. Going on to ME2 and probably ME3 after if I can complete this playthrough. I still want to playthrough and beat Andromeda to see what happens, but for the life of me I just can't.

Capcom’s Dragon’s Dogma game is getting a Netflix anime

A new show produced by Netflix? I wonder how many gay characters there'll be. -
I find it hard to really define my beliefs. I think the Buddhist beliefs seem more likely, but as for whether or not there's a god, I'm pretty sure there is, but I have more of a pantheism or deism view on them. Things like the bible are pretty much fictional or exaggerations for the sake of story telling, and there is no tradition or requirements that need to be followed to "earn gods forgiveness/blessing" or whatever it is they say. I think deism is essentially the belief in a god that isn't based on any religion, while pantheism is the belief that all things compose an all-encompassing immanent god. It doesn't recognize a distinct personal god. So a mix of these 2 things and Buddhism make up the way I view things.

It's kind of annoying, I had the same phone number since 2011 I believe, up until 2018 or 2019. It legit got to the point where I was getting damn near 12 robo calls a day. The blocking feature in my phone did jack shit so I ended up having to download some call blocker off the app store, which did a better job but for each number I blocked 2 more called me in its place, and whenever they do get blocked they still leave a blank voicemail. Eventually I had to abandon that phone number, only then did it drastically reduce the number of calls I'd get. I will say for the last couple of months it seems like I rarely get those calls, so that's a positive. It was really annoying though having to change my number, I was locked out of many accounts such as my PS account since I had that number setup for security, had to make a lot of calls to get that number removed from various accounts.

Just for the game to crash as soon as you try to start it, you spending more time diagnosing things, even deleting the game to start over with a fresh install but for some reason shit won't work, so you end up saying fuck it and getting a refund on Steam. This is the second time I tried getting into Skyrim again. I have the original version, but I went and got the special edition on Steam since I figured it'd be more reliable and since it includes the DLC, but I legit think I'd have better luck with modding the original version.

There is only one true god

When it comes to an afterlife, if given the choice I don't know if I'd want to take it or not. Not limited by a body means you'll never have to eat or sleep, or do many things that one might enjoy as a human. I'm sure there's no internet or movies or games, unless there is and God is just a big dick that keeps the wifi password to himself. I'm inclined to believe that even an afterlife isn't eternal, and that eventually one will move on to a new life. Our planet is one of trillions upon trillions, our galaxy being one of millions if not trillions, and lately in the astronomical community it's to be believed that our universe is just one of many. It would seem like there will always be life somewhere, even if divided by millions or even billions of years. For all we know it could be just like going to sleep and then waking up 8 hours later, in your perspective you don't notice the passage of time, you just remember waking up. It very well could be a case where no one will ever truly know what an afterlife is, even after death, since by the time you're able to think again you won't be you anymore.

Also some ghostly stories from the various grade schools in our school district. There's one on the outskirts of town that's quite literally built right next to a small graveyard (easily over a hundred years old, only a dozen or so graves), a friend of mine that worked at that school as a custodian had a lot of freaky encounters there, late one evening him and the other guy legit heard what sounded like people running around in the gym room and kids laughing, them going in there to find not a damn thing. He was telling someone that they needed to trim the trees from that graveyard cause they were hanging over and touching the school building, bridging them. There's also a similar experience at the pre-K / kindergarten school in town where late one evening it sounded like there were people up on the second floor talking and messing around, but there wasn't a single person. There was the one temp guy I worked with in the past, him working as some kind of janitor at the hospital in town here, and he had a bunch of stories of freaky, unexplainable shit going on.

I still never opened the letter in the persons name, all I know is it's one of those VFW related letters, that being something I did find online about the guy that he was in Korean war I believe. I've had a couple other ghostly encounters when I was a kid. When I was 9 my neighbor was also my best friend, and I'd stay the night at his place from time to time. His parents even said their house was haunted, there were some nights I could hear things being moved around down on the first floor, and the way that house was set up, all the bedrooms were upstairs, and my friends room was the room where the stairs were, so if anyone had gone down them it'd literally be impossible to not notice them. There was also a time when I was 4 (I have some memories from back then, even as far back as 3 years old) us and a lot of other folks were hanging out at some friends house that lived across the street from us (by now those houses are likely 70 years old at minimum), their basement had some kind of entertainment room setup. I remember going down there and I saw a door to the side, I was curious so I opened it and it was a laundry room, but at the far side of the room I just saw a pale white, faded man standing there staring at me. I was only 3 or 4 and even then I thought of him as a ghost, me quickly closing the door and walking away. Didn't tell anyone there about it though.

Honestly I think religion as a concept turns off so many people when it comes to believing in a god. They'll look at actions or things hypocritical done or said by Christians for example, and want nothing to do with that. I've experienced it many times, for the most part I believe in some form of maker but when I'm around someone that's drinking the koolaid big time and pushing that stuff onto others it makes me feel more atheistic. The way I interpret it is God is something that goes above and beyond our understanding, while the majority of religions is something people for the most part have shaped to suit their needs and to push their agendas. It's probably crazy to say, but I believe there could and should be a seperation between god and religion. That's another thing about Buddhism, it isn't built around serving or trying to appeal to gods or deities, it's about living your life and achieving enlightenment. The things I've looked into online does lead me to believe that those that are likely to reach an afterlife are those that have served their purpose in this life, or have lived a complete life and have no further use here. While those that haven't reached enlightenment or have lived an unfulfilled life are more likely to experience reincarnation.

I've been considering burning sage but I've been holding off until it seemed like it needed to happen. In the past month I've also been finding the door that leads down to my basement to be open a lot more often even though I typically always keep it shut. Also with my bedroom door from time to time it will randomly pop, where the door latch is no longer in the hole, able to just push it forward and open the door, though that one might just be the house settling.

I'm pretty sure there's something. I've looked into a lot of shit online, reading a lot of experiences and accounts of things that seem credible, because of this there's two possibilities, that the Buddhist outcome seems to be the more likely one, or perhaps something above that in which the human cognition shapes what we see and what we'll experience. I do think going to an afterlife, reincarnation, and also ghosts could all be possible. I've posted here about how I legit think my house might be haunted, and I had another experience in the last 2 weeks that seemed too freaky to be a coincidence. I bought my house back in March, and had a bunch of small, trivial things happen. But one day in the last two weeks I had to get up early to go do something for a couple hours and when I got back home I immediately went back to bed, where I had the most vivid / lucid dream I can remember having, where it felt like there were people in my bedroom having conversation, I remember opening my eyes a couple of times to see if someone was in my room (I live alone mind you), and then at some point I opened my eyes and there was an old man standing next to my bed, he wear some kind of patriotic ball cap on his head, him looking to be at least in his 70's. He said something to me that I forgot after I woke up, but when I got up I immediately went and checked this one letter I got months ago to the original owners of the house, me getting the name from that, I looked the name up and I shit you not there it was, 2019 Illinois obituaries, and it even had a picture of the person, and there they were, even wearing the same hat I saw. The guy lived from 1938 or 39 to 2019.

And the Bleach 20th Anniversary Project is....
Distinct Lunatic replied to 3ngag3's topic in Anime & Manga
I don't know what he's been crying about but I've done no such thing. I think I gave him some shit about something along those lines, but I didn't report the dude. He did have a typical Elfie style freakout over it happening though. The dude blocked me on DA ages ago, before that even happened. I only know about it cause he talked about it on the boards back then. -
