CorbeauKarasu Posted April 26 Posted April 26 DAN DA DAN Episode 17: We Can All Stay There Together! HOT OR COLD? DEMON OR HUMAN? FRIEND OR FOE? DANDADAN OR RANMA? ONLY TOONAMI 3
ben0119 Posted April 26 Posted April 26 Is that a Japanese exorcism? LOL didn't work so gonna go again. 2
ben0119 Posted April 26 Posted April 26 (edited) Hah, I havent seen the Ranma remake yet (really don't want to deal with Happosai's shit again,) but I can only imagine people losing their minds over both main characters being tsunderes. 😄 Oh and THAT'S why @CorbeauKarasu made the Ranma reference. 😄 Edited April 26 by ben0119 2
ben0119 Posted April 26 Posted April 26 (edited) Hah pink hair wishes she was along. Hey she might HAVE been helpful? Is Jiji stuck like this then? Mountain Yokai? Oh so that kid from back then had a lot of spiritual power too, like Jiji. That's a big help, Turbo Granny... Really... avoiding warm water would be a lot easier than avoiding cold water. But showers would be awful. Your physiology makes no sense! And stop saying deej! The aliens literally live next door. Did the whole spaceship rigmarole for nothing! "Oh my god our hands touched!" Edited April 26 by ben0119 2
ben0119 Posted April 26 Posted April 26 (edited) "What are you doing, Miss Hayase?" "What are you talking about? I'm not doin' anything." Jiji and Taro ruined the moment! The parents aren't dead? So they weren't killed by the Kitos or fed to the worm?? Edited April 26 by ben0119
ben0119 Posted April 26 Posted April 26 (edited) Wow the Kitos got arrested, but Naki escaped. Can you put... whatever they are, on trial? Gah a mask! They were aliens all along! No, subterraneans LOL. Every alien, cryptid, monster, creature, ghost, demon, and yokai are canon in this world. 😄 Edited April 26 by ben0119 1
Roymustang1990 Posted April 26 Posted April 26 (edited) I think this is the episode where seiko woree her hair down lol such a hot granny babe Edit:she didn't wear it down Edited April 26 by Roymustang1990 2
DangerMouse Posted April 26 Posted April 26 What are you talking about Aira? How exactly would being seen with Momo hurt your cred more than being seen with Okarun? lol 2
ben0119 Posted April 26 Posted April 26 Are those the Hayashi? They look suspiciously like the rapelians. Argh. The gal friends! Feel guilty Aira? Still no phone! Live with Momo YES lol. 2
ben0119 Posted April 26 Posted April 26 LOL Aira's disguise. And Jiji is acting like a major idiot. Yeah I don't think he's ok. 1
Roymustang1990 Posted April 26 Posted April 26 Soy sauce caused that evil eye nuclear explosion of hilarity 2
ben0119 Posted April 26 Posted April 26 The soy sauce is cold you FOOL! Missed the first time only for the second one to spill on Jiji. 😄 You know gotta hold a soy sauce bottle upright, Okuran. And Grandma should've been thinking of that too. Nooo dinner and the house is ruined! D: LOL a band next week. 2
Roymustang1990 Posted April 26 Posted April 26 Okarun couldn't say no to living with Momo Of course not 3

Clumsy Okuran just spilled cold soy sauce on Jiji, and the Evil Eye took over and wrecked everything instantly. Grandma should've known better too than to ask for soy sauce to be passed across where Jiji was sitting! Edited April 26 by ben0119 1
Dark_Cloud_Overhead Posted April 26 Posted April 26 Shoot, I started watching a movie thinking I'd stop midway through when Toonami was about to start, and got so caught up watching that I forgot to stop. Oh well. So Jiji went nuts again, huh? And are they gonna perform some kind of heavy metal exorcism next week? Well that sure looks like it's gonna be wild. 2

I found out Ranma's Sasuke is an anime only character, but Happousai is still pretty insufferable. Is he toned down or have less screen time at all?

It was HORRIBLE. And it's not a good idea for people with heart conditions. It's a good thing Jiji is young. Wait never mind, it's cold water Jiji has to avoid. But how cold? The water on your body starts to cool off after you get out of the shower. So he'd have to dry really fast LOL. 1 1

Haven't seen everything out so far yet, but I think there's going to be somewhat less of him overall since I read that the old 90's anime added more of him than the manga had due to popularity back then lol. Oh yeah I didn't realize that character was anime only either. Edited April 26 by DangerMouse 1

Oh yeah I didn't realize that character was anime only either. I was going to say the original series didn't have much filler but I clearly remembered wrong haha. It's just that the format of the show, filler doesn't really stick out as being filler. The show basically makes me think of if the original Dragon Ball series was also a romcom sitcom lol. https://www.animefillerlist.com/shows/ranma-½ I have no idea how many of these filler episodes were Happosai-centric. That is crazy he was popular back then haha. Yep, to find out such an annoying character like Sasuke wasn't even meant to be there was quite frustrating haha. Edited April 26 by ben0119 1

A little ridiculous to think that anyone could be expected to prove their innocence in just an hour and a half, especially for something as serious as the charge of murder, but that aside I got pretty immersed in it. 2

I actually read a review that said exactly this. It seemed insufferable on the surface but was pretty engrossing. 1

Yeah, it's like they took a murder mystery that could have traditionally been done as a short series and condensed it down to the point where it feels like it doesn't even give you a chance to breathe because it keeps moving at such a breakneck fast pace. If you stop to think about it of course though, it's ludicrous to think anyone could piece things together that quickly in real life. Real detective work is painstaking and takes time, but realism doesn't make for as good a cinema though so it's understandable. 3

Top Gun Posted April 26 Posted April 26 I chuckled at the blatant Ranma setup going on here, but they went way further with it: Jiji is literally singing Ranma's opening theme during the episode. Incredible. 2 3

It wasn't Happosai that was popular; it was all the women's underwear he left in his wake. Or something, I've never seen Ranma outside of the odd promo trailer on my Inuyasha DVDs.
