@ghostrek What do you think about the Strait of Hormuz situation?

@InsipidI need to tell you what I'm thinking that the United States  Navy needs to invest in some fucking escort ships, stop building so many fuckingdestroyers, but build some fucking escorts also. they fuckingwasting my fucking waste my tax dollars, you fucking  assholes fuck it all. Jesus Christ, logistics is a fundamental of warfare, we're losing the war, while winning tactical victories, what the fuck! They say Donald Trump's detached from the American people. I think the Joint Chiefs of Staff are also fuck  it.

oh my god ghostrek so many f words 😱

But I think you know optics appeal to average maga more than logistics.

@Insipid MAGA? I'm talking about military Professionals in the Pentagon, not advocating for the shit they need!  The Canadians are laughing at us right now, and their Navy sucks worse than ours. I'm talking about the sheer audacity and not planning better. I understand it might have been in the pinch, but God damn. You're talking about the same military that back in the twenties and thirties had plans to invade and go to war of Canada, part of War Plan Red. I said part because different shades of red are associated with different countries of the then British Empire, now the Commonwealth, but God damn.  And I'm not considering the military as part of MAGA because technically, a military professional should be apolitical on duty or in service, depending on your interpretation

Excuse me, we are trying to be positive in this thread. Give ghostie credit. You know the average person supporting this stupid war probably doesn't even know what logistics are. All they care about are DA EXPLOSIONS 💩💩💩

I'm going to say this once, and I hope you all understand. We’re talking about escorts, frigates, and corvettes—yes, corvettes are a real type of warship. There has been a documented failure with the Littoral Combat Ship (LCS) program. This program should have been discontinued after returning from Afghanistan and Iraq, as it was designed for expeditionary warfare suited to the 1990s and 2000s, not for the new Cold War we face in the 2020s.

Your perspective on the war is that it involves oil, but it’s also about sending a message to China not to pursue Taiwan. It's predicted that as early as next year, China will have full military capability to go after Taiwan, which would coincide with the peak size of its military. This is largely due to its large population, which is rapidly decreasing. This isn't just my opinion; the Department of Defense has been saying this for at least ten years, long before Pete Hegseth became Secretary of Defense.

I want to clarify that I am someone who is very well-read on military situations. Most people assume my bookshelf is filled with science fiction novels, but in reality, I own more military history-related texts than anything else. Additionally, I watch more YouTube channels focused on military history than any other topic. It’s a disservice to me as a human being to presume that I only have one main interest.

So, presuming that I’m an armchair general—actually, an admiral, since it involves naval issues—I'm documenting a matter that has been well described as a concern in United States naval circles for over ten years now. The Oliver Hazard Perry-class frigates have been out of service even longer than that.

This is not a video game or a board game. I have loved ones in the military, and I do not want them to be killed in a pointless war. If they were to die because of some poorly thought-out scheme, I certainly wouldn’t be happy about that.

@Insipid thank you

Given the need to open up the Strait of Hormuz, the only viable approach is to use escort ships to accompany cargo vessels. However, the US Navy currently lacks the necessary fleet size to effectively do this. Considering how we are treating our allies—especially in light of today's incident with the Japanese Prime Minister—it seems unlikely that our allies will be willing to send escorts.

The Royal Navy, once a formidable force, is now considerably diminished. Aside from its nuclear-powered submarines, which are touted as the pride of the fleet, the overall state of the Royal Navy is quite weak. Canada also lacks the capability to contribute significantly. This leaves us with allies primarily situated in the Indo-Pacific and parts of Europe—like Italy, France, and Germany—but I don't foresee any of them stepping up for this mission.

Another option could be the US Coast Guard, which might have to revert to its wartime role to support the Navy in this effort.

dude. NOW you can convey an actual well thought and well versed summary on what you percieve to be a 'good plan'.

jfc.

What he said was that I never thought it was a good plan. My original plan was never to get involved in another military campaign with Iran. Personally, I believe that the son of the late Iranian monarch is paying Trump a lot of money.The capabilities of Iran are concerning to me. I am particularly worried about what are known as sleeper cells from the Basij. I previously mentioned cyber warfare hackers and the concept of Gray Zone Warfare, which includes information dominance warfare.
