American Dad being booted off TBS back to Fox, can Adult Swim get first dibs on the reruns?

On top of that, [as] will continue to air reruns until at least 2030. It doesn't say if they'll be able to premiere new episodes after they're on Fox, though.

I was thinking Hulu would get the new seasons, assuming that even happens, but a return to broadcast cable is surprising.

With cable dying it does make some sense to move it back to FOX national broadcasts and it will also be on Hulu like all those series.

AS will keep the reruns and I suppose it was never in the cards that AS would get first dibs after TBS moved on but it would have been something if they did.

That is the last of the scripted TBS programming I think? That in of itself is distressing to think about.

Good, on TBS they really shoe-horned them in there where they didn't belong instead of letting them happen organically.

Even the South Park episode that includes 162 individual s-bombs was able to do it organically, but its too much to ask of American Dad, apparently.

The most boring episode of modern Family Guy would still be MA or unairable even during early revival years.

Fox isn’t fucking around.  They gave American Dad, and all their other animated sitcoms four more seasons.  It’s particularly dramatic for The Simpsons which will hit Season 40(!) when this is done.

On the one hand, this is head-turning news to a degree only seen under the Court of the Owls.

On the other hand, these seasons will have 15 episodes as opposed to 22. Still, 60-episode pickups for four shows all at once? That's a lot of trust in Fox's adult animation offerings.

Then again, this does explain the issue I gathered with how many shows they have on standby Sunday nights.

That brings up the question of how many of the main cast are they willing to replace? They've already showed to be willing to replace Shearer.

I believe Milhouee had his VA retire as well. 
 

Side cast they seem fine with replacing. When something happens to Homer, Marge, Bart or Lisa is when there will have to be a real talk about the future of the show. And I think we all know it’s probably gonna be Marge that forces the discussion.
